3 Ways Hilton Grand Vacations Supports Working Parents

Top Workplaces, the United States’ leading employer recognition program, named Hilton Grand Vacations one of its 2024 Top Workplaces USA, an honor recognizing companies with outstanding workplace cultures.

Regarding this honor, Hilton Grand Vacations’ president and CEO Mark Wang said, “We firmly believe prioritizing and empowering our Team Members is the key to success. We are thrilled to receive this honor and will continue to innovate and invest in our greatest asset — our people — to provide the support and resources they need to thrive personally and professionally.”

For working parents, their personal and professional lives impact each other. Maureen Perry-Jenkins , a professor of psychology, recently conducted a 10-year longitudinal to examine this impact more closely. “We consistently saw that the children of employees who had had more positive work experiences in their first years as parents had better reading and math skills, better social skills, and fewer behavioral problems in the first grade,” she explained. She also found the opposite — that family stress bled into the workplace, lowering productivity and leading to employee dissatisfaction.

For Perry-Jenkins, the study’s main takeaway was that healthy work cultures need to value the well-being of parents and their families.

Here are three main ways that Hilton Grand Vacations supports working parents and their families.

Welcoming a new child into the family is always a joyous time. That’s why Hilton Grand Vacations offers up to 12 consecutive weeks of paid parental leave to eligible Team Members following the birth or adoption of a Team Member’s child.

One father of two, Josh W., shared his experience with his two kids. “I took 12 weeks of parental leave when my son and my daughter were born. I am beyond grateful for that time,” he said.

“Parental leave is the farthest thing from a vacation. I probably worked more than I did at work,” Josh added. “But I was able to bond and have those moments with my newborn. It’s really an amazing benefit — easy to use and available for all parents, fathers, mothers and adoptive parents.”

In fact, the Dave Thomas Foundation named Hilton Grand Vacations among the top 100 “Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces.” Hilton Grand Vacations offers corporate, hourly and resort-based Team Members* adoption assistance up to $10,000 per child to help offset the cost of adoption, in addition to 12 weeks of paid parental leave.

“When I learned about adoption assistance, I was overjoyed,” Wayne H., an adoptive father and customer care agent, said. “For our family, it wasn’t the amount of financial assistance, but the fact Hilton Grand Vacations cared enough to support us in our adoption journey — the company didn’t just talk the talk but walked the walk. Plus, my parental leave options as an adoptive parent were similar to families welcoming birth children.”

Parental leave and adoption assistance help parents settle in with their new children and enjoy memories they’ll treasure for years.

Speaking of time with family, our travel benefits are one of Hilton Grand Vacations’ most beloved perks. Team Members love the Team Member and Family Travel Program, which offers discounts on hotel rooms worldwide for them and their loved ones . Destinations have included everything from top spots like New York City, Oahu and London to closer-to-home staycations and cross-country road-trip stops.

In order to enjoy vacations or deal with any surprises life throws your way, Team Members enjoy generous paid time off (PTO). There’s also flexibility within PTO for Team Members to choose which holidays to observe, allowing them to decide how and when to spend time together and celebrate their family traditions.

Plus, salaried managers and above enjoy unlimited PTO and the support to use it. Meagan H., a senior marketing content manager, said, “In my experience, the culture at Hilton Grand Vacations is very pro-PTO. As long as you can manage your workload and plan accordingly, you can take the necessary time. Of course, we have to work together as a team and help each other take the time we need — but that’s never been a problem.”

Whenever employee benefits come up, most people think of insurance and retirement savings. Great news — Hilton Grand Vacations offers day one benefits , so your benefits start working when you do.

However, Hilton Grand Vacations goes further to support family health and wellness.

Team Members have access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program connects employees to a variety of resources to boost mental health. For example, Hilton Grand Vacations’ EAP can connect you to counselors who can help you deal with depression or anxiety, help you research child care when you return to work or identify legal resources to help you with wills, trusts and family law.

Team Members based in the U.S. can also access a discount program to save big on almost anything — from baby necessities like strollers, diapers and formula to big-ticket items like flights, computers and theme park tickets.

Finally, as a working parent at Hilton Grand Vacations, you’re never alone. Parents and caregivers across the company can connect through a Team Member Resource Group (TMRG). This TMRG offers regular opportunities for caretakers to network outside their teams, learn about company resources like EAP and volunteer with their families.

While being a working parent is far from easy, Hilton Grand Vacations proudly offers a comprehensive suite of benefits to help Team Members succeed professionally and personally. Check out job openings and join Hilton Grand Vacations’ talent network at hgv.com/careers .

This is beyond amazing!! Wow! One of the most fulfilling aspect of a young mother’s life is to be able to balance work and your family. It is so rewarding to be able to do both exceptionally and to work with a company that cares about the wellbeing of its employees. Way to go Hilton! Very impressive!
