3 Ways To Have Better Time Management
Do you ever find yourself running out of time to do things on a daily basis? Late submitting your assignment? Late to clock in for work? Always the last one to walk in late for a work meeting? Yes, this is for all the lovely people who have a love-hate relationship with time management. Let’s face it, we're not perfect and sometimes we run a little behind, but if its on a consistent basis, It may be time to re-evaluate your schedule.
I noticed at the beginning of the year, I was running around trying to manage my full-time job, friends, a blog, and YouTube. It was crazy! One day I actually made time to make lunch and dinner for work, wash some clothes, clean my bedroom, and even had time to clear my car off from the snow in the midst of being on a phone call. Now how in the world did I do all this, make it 15 minutes early to work, and I woke up around 10:00am? All before 1:30?! This was a true miracle! Or at least I thought at first.
I knew then, that it really just boiled down to two words,Time Management. After having this moment of realization, I felt sharing what helped me could really benefit others who struggle with Time Management.
So, how can you manage your time a little better? Here’s 3 Ways!
1) SET ALARM CLOCKS AND ACTUALLY GET UP WHEN THEY GO OFF.
- Set your alarm clock on your phone and a regular one if you have it. But, here is the key, make sure you actually get up! It's pretty simple. What’s the point in setting them, if you’re not going to get up? Stop hitting the clock 3 to 4 times. Once it goes off, really try to get up after the first alarm.
2) CREATE TO-DO LISTS THAT ARE REALISTIC TO BE COMPLETED.
- Creating a To-Do list that is realistic, meaning only have things that you are able to get done on your schedule that day so that you can complete the list within the time frame you have. Do not overwhelm yourself with 10 thousand things to do with only 2 hours before work.
3) PUT YOUR PHONE ON DO NOT DISTURB IF EASILY DISTRACTED.
- Lastly, put down the cellphone! Listen, I love my cellphone! However, it can be a major distraction from not only doing things on a daily basis, but also while you're at work, at the gym, or even in school and all these places are places you should be focused right? Agreed!
Time Management is something that can be hard to conquer when starting out, but with patience, consistency, and determination, you can start managing your time effectively!
