3 Ways God Wants To Express Himself Through Your Business

Hello Dear Believer,

Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter.

............

God is very intentional. He has an outlined purpose for everything he does and has created.

Your business is part of God's grand design to permeate this world with the many-sided expressions of his goodness, according to 1 Peter 2:9.

It says: But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvellous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world - (TPT).

The sad part is that most believers in business do not understand their role and therefore resign themselves to just making money and paying tithes.

Your business. brand, idea or service is a seed and God intends for everything that proceeds from him to produce results as exemplified in the scriptures (Luke 13:6-9, John 15:1&2, Matthew 13).

Genesis 26:4 says: And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Part B of the scripture above reads; "... and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed."

What does it really mean to be a blessing to the nations of the earth, from the business perspective?

What it simply means is that anyone who interacts with your idea, business, brand, product or service should experience all or one of these;

  • Empowerment.
  • Fulfilment of their expectations, goals and/or dreams.
  • Succour from pain.
  • Solution.

Let us also take a look at 2 Timothy 1:7. It says: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We will zero in on three (3) concepts in the verse above as we begin the journey, and they are;

  • Power.
  • Love
  • Sound mind.

1. Power

One of the meanings of the word power in the context of the verse above is ability. In other words, God desires to showcase his innovative and creative ability through your life and business.

You have been put here on earth to be a change agent and it will be a disservice to the kingdom to which you belong if your positive impact is not felt.

Most people think innovation is synonymous with noise or that it has to be loud. That is not true.

Innovation is simply the adoption of new ways, processes or systems to solve problems. It is also the combination of old and new methods to create a better alternative or process.

God deposited the ability to cause positive change and make things better in every human being at creation.

What innovative or creative idea are you and your business championing? It could be something as simple as the way you treat your customers or the way you handle orders and package your products.

God expects you to replicate his glory here on earth by spearheading creativity, innovation and making positive impact.

A dear mentor once said, "Success is leaving the world a better place than you met it."

The world is waiting for the manifestation, innovation, and creative ideas of the sons and daughters of God, according to Romans 8:19.

2. Love

Love is much more than your feelings. It simply means expressing the nature, character and beauty of the Lord.

Your business should be God's outstretched arm of love to your environment and generation. If you love God and are an expression of his love, it will show in the lives of the people who work for you, as well as your customers.

A business powered by God's love will not cut corners. You will prioritise customer and staff safety over profit.

  • Are you just focused on making money only and doing business as usual?
  • Is the impact of the money you are making being felt in your host community or the lives of the poor?
  • How has the body of Christ become better as a result of the increase that the Lord brought your way last time?
  • Is praise going up to God because of your business or are you just amassing wealth for yourself and your family alone?

According to 2 Corinthians 9:12 (MSG), Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God.

Imagine angels alerting God to a large amount of praise heading for heaven, and God asks where it is coming from, and then they mention your business name because of your benevolence to the poor. How do you think God will feel?

  • Are your customers getting quality service from you?
  • Do you extend goodwill to your competitors?

1 John 4:20 (MSG) says: Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

3. Sound Mind

The meaning of Sound mind in the context of the main scripture which is 2 Timothy 1:7, means self-discipline.

Self-discipline is the ability to regulate and motivate yourself to maintain certain values and principles you or your business hold(s) dear.

A favourite scripture that properly explains the importance of self-discipline is Proverbs 25:28, which says: A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out (MSG).

  • Does your corporate culture reinforce your business values?
  • Does your business demonstrate your core values as you interact with customers?
  • Does your business value promote and encourage the actualisation of staff goals?
  • Does your service or product meet the approved industry/market standard?

Apostle Paul in Romans 13:1-6 (MSG) taught something that every entrepreneur should take seriously.

He said: ?Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it's God's order. So live responsibly as a citizen.?

2?If you're irresponsible to the state, then you're irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible.?

3?Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you're trying to get by with something. Decent citizens should have nothing to fear.?

4?the government working to your advantage. But if you're breaking the rules right and left, watch out. The police aren't there just to be admired in their uniforms. God also has an interest in keeping order, and he uses them to do it.?

5?That's why you must live responsibly - not just to avoid punishment but also because it's the right way to live.?

6?That's also why you pay taxes - so that an orderly way of life can be maintained.

7?Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Pay your taxes, pay your bills, respect your leaders.?

I pray that the Spirit of wisdom will guide you to make the right decisions and align with God's will in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Please take a minute to like, share and leave your feedback in the comment section.?

Thank you for your time and Merry Christmas in advance.
