If you haven’t joined social media yet, don’t fret. It’s never too late to put your business on the social media map and leverage the power offered by these platforms to market your business

I’m sure you’ve heard over and over how important it is to get your business online and into the world of social media, and for good reason!

With?4.2 billion active social media users—almost twice as many as there were just five years ago, it’s a must to ensure your business owns its piece of the social space be it to build brand awareness, develop customer relationships, or even to make sales directly within a social media platform.

But how?

Fear not, the team at K2O Creative is here to help, and today I’m going to share 3 ways to get your business on social media in 2022.?

1.??????Build a plan

We all use social media, if not for business then for personal purposes, so we all have a built-in level of comfort in navigating and posting to the various platforms, and it doesn’t cost anything to create a Faebook Page, Instragram profile or twitter account for your business.

But before you jump in, remember: every good social media strategy needs a rock-solid plan to help you to set a clear goal for what you are trying to achieve for your business online.

So first off, make the time to create a social media plan to ensure all your social efforts support specific business goals.

-?????????Set social media goals and objectives – what are you wanting to achieve?

-?????????Research the competition – what are they doing on social media and how can you better it?

-?????????Conduct a social media audit and evaluate your existing efforts.

-?????????Get inspired. Take inspiration for aesthetics, layouts, language and design from other successful accounts in all industries.

-?????????Create a social media calendar to make sure you post to the right channels at the right times.

-?????????Use the 80-20 rule. Create 80% of your content to inform, educate, or entertain your followers. Use the other 20% to promote your business, sell your products or elevate your brand.

2.??????Identify your audience to choose your platforms

Don’t make assumptions as to where your audience spend their time online.

For example, you might think that if you’re targeting Gen Z, you should concentrate on content for Instagram and TikTok, but stats show?that almost a quarter of Facebook users fall into the 18 to 24 age bracket. Having said that adults over age 65 are currently Facebook’s?fastest growing?audience segment. So, you’ll need to conduct some research of your own. You can use different social platforms to reach different audiences.

3.??????Create unique and compelling content

Each social media account should have its own unique ‘personality’. ?From voice and visuals to overall content and messaging. What makes you better than your competitors and why should customers listen to you? Creating your social identity includes establishing your own style of posts, unique hashtags and look and feel. ?Ultimately, you need to think outside the box to make people want to follow you and be engaged with whatever you decide to post next. You should aim to further validate your business by posting links to blogs and articles, client reviews, awards and achievements.
