3 ways to get the most out of your event

Hosting gatherings can be a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and can allow you connect with stakeholders on a different level.
To maximize your event's potential here are three tips to help you get the most out of it!
1) Lead with JOY
Taking time to speak with the families we serve has become a pillar of Mitlin's expansion.
But get this...... at the event we do not talk about business, nothing, not a word.
For our 1st few events, it took come “convincing” to get people to attend.
Why?
When asked, those invited voiced concern saying they did not want to be ‘sold’
Many of those who were apprehensive at first are now staples at our events! They have now experienced that a Mitlin team member takes a moment to welcome everyone and then we enJOY the time at the event together!
2) Listen
Listen, really listen and encourage your team to do the same. Point 2 ties closely to point 1 as the goal is to build and strengthen bonds.
The event is not by talk about business or in our case the market or retirement planning but it is about asking about the family, learning more about their passions, and remembering those details. These small details become the foundation for deep connections, the kind of connections that build what Brittany Hodak calls "Super Fans."
After the event get as much of that data as you can into your CRM < in our case the love affair marketing piece of SalesForce > as possible. This data will allow the whole team to gain insight from the conversations had. (I will have later post about how to use this customized data)
3) A parting gift
If you know me, you know adore swag, though I may a bit of a swag snob and I am specific about my love of useful swag.... I do love it...
What is useful swag you might ask?
It is something people will enJOY and use .... swag like this is worth the price of the item in spades!
With proper planning, you can have the item you give fit the theme of the event. When Mitlin hosted at Top Golf each guest was given a swag bag with a "What did you do today that brought you joy??” golf towel and a sleeve of Mitlin Money Mindset? golf balls (not to be used during the event but to be taken home)

The ”parting gift” serves as a remind of your company and of the JOY they had at the event!?
If you have taken the time to read this far….
I have a BONUS tip for you
You can leave a review for the location with a few photos that have your company logo in them and presto your logo will trend with the review.
A well-written review that offers tips can end up with a fair amount of eyes
One of the photos in my review of a local amazing restaurant in our area has over 40,000 views; the total views exceed 80,000 (I know this because Google sends me updates)
This post <and the ones that follow> are the result of the encouragement of people whose opinions I value and who I adore. People who encouraged me to put my voice out there
