Are you writing your book, and somehow in the middle, you just lost motivation? You were so hyped up when you started creating your book and, suddenly, you’re not anymore.
Know that you’re not alone. Every author experiences this and other challenges during the process of book creation. You don’t need to be hard on yourself or doubt your abilities when this happens.
There are tons of reasons we lose inspiration. It could be distractions from work, relationships around us, or simply our environment. It could also be because we got into our heads. We’re afraid that people will reject or judge us, or perhaps we don’t find our manuscript interesting enough.
The good thing is, if we lose motivation along the way, we can always find it back.
Read on to know the three ways to get inspiration so you can finish your book with flying colors!
- Listen to your heart.
Isn’t the desire in you to write a book or become an author from your heart? That’s because it knows everything. The desire is put in our hearts for a purpose. So, when you find yourself uninspired, breathe and listen to your heart. Shut all the voices from your head for a second and just lean into your heart. What does it say? What does it want?
From there, you can continue writing what your heart says. It doesn’t need to be perfect right away. Sometimes, it’s going to be messy and all over the place–and that’s okay. That’s actually a sign that ideas are flowing. Just let it flow. You can always edit your manuscript afterward.

2. Live the life you want to write about.
Stories exist because experiences happen. Give yourself some grace; instead of
worrying about what to write, create a life work creating a book. Go out, see the sun, meet amazing people, visit cafes, travel–live life to the fullest! You are the author of your story and you deserve to live your best life. When you do, your book will be fuller, more authentic, and more beautiful. You are going to impact lives across the globe.
3. Get the help you need.
One of the reasons we get stuck and eventually become uninspired is because we don’t know what to do next. Remember that this is not a dead end. You can always ask for help. If what you need is an editor for your manuscript, hire one. If you need a coach to help you keep the ball rolling, get one. If you need training, join workshops to upscale your skills and knowledge. Get a team and delegate tasks so you can focus on your zone of genius. This will lift a weight in you, and you will be in a calmer, more inspired state.
If you’re interested in getting more inspiration and knowledge for publishing a book, we have a perfect opportunity for you!?
