3 ways to exponential growth within SAP ecosystem: #NetworkEffects in action @ ASUG
A few business innovations grow exponentially in value, while a majority just fail to get off the ground. While there is a lot of debate on why some get trapped in the latter category, one common theme for the winners (especially in the ) is their ability to use .
eg, think value of Facebook (vs Myspace), Youtube (Vs others), etc and note the difference in their value due to their ability to tap into (vs their competitors). [for the curious, this is solidly based on Metcalfe's law: Metcalfe's law - Wikipedia since 1983 and proven by many business success stories].
This was visible in action yesterday at ASUG event in Chicago where we experienced it being deployed by 3 different groups :
1) Walgreen's Scan-Based Trading solution: from the kickoff, the agenda was set by a very relevant & yet, brutally honest presentation by group of SME's from Walgreens, by Bradley J Trychta , Beverly Barnes, MBA & team. [those wanting to dig deeper in this US$20b+ opportunity can learn a lot from that experience ]. The experts from Walgreens shared how they built solution using SAP platform, EDI and some sheer ingenuity, but also discussed within the ASUG network how that is being deployed at other units. Needless to say, rest of the conference was abuzz with this presentation & that is in action for SAP customers.
2) dev: Even before , low code adoption was growing across organizations for UI, analytics and integration dev. However, has just pushed it past the tipping point & an avalanche of solutions are getting ready. Had an insightful discussion with Greg Marinello from SAP partner Neptune Software about the road ahead for rest of us. Next week, following up with discussions on cross-pollinating the UI and analytics with for achieving growth with . Looking forward, Greg Marinello .

3) : SAP recently has been focusing a lot on the shift from "Averages to Actuals" and Chet Harter from SAP very lucidly showed how organizations can continuously discover and deliver process improvements. What stuck in my mind is the ability of to benchmark customers business processes, with peers of the industry and identify areas where they excel, as well as can improve upon. This provides window of insights for SAP customers to go beyond in-house processes & tap into . Great insights for continuous improvement teams & also, for the next transformation (S4HANA/ supply chain etc).
Good work , for bringing together SAP customers, SAP platform and ecosystem of partners to grow with .
