We all have times in our life when we feel down or when our doubt grows so strong that we find it impossible to believe in our dreams. Whether you have small dreams or big dreams - whatever you want out of life - the other side of you will always be standing there in front of you.
When everything feels so much bigger than you, when all your dreams seem so enormous, and when your demons spin the doubt in your mind - stop, sit down, close your eyes, and follow this specific process.
The Ultimate Process To Defeat Self Doubt
1. Acknowledge The Mountain...
First, observe these thoughts and feelings. Notice them. Understand them. And most importantly, accept them (this doesn't mean letting them control you). The first real step to overcoming anything is accepting how things are in the present moment.
How do overcome the mountain if you don't first acknowledge that it exists? Acknowledging the existence of the things you hate is the first step to getting rid of those same things.
2. Focus On Your Dreams.
Once you acknowledge the problem, you need to identify why it is worth overcoming them. If you do not do this, you will lose the motivation to proceed when things don't work out as planned and the uphill battle becomes relentless. The question is, how can you do this? Focusing on your dreams and reminding yourself of why you are alive and where you are going happens to be just one effective measure to identify why it is worth overcoming the problem. In the end, it doesn't matter how you motivate yourself, as long as the reason you give yourself for needing (not wanting, that's the difference) to overcome the problem is powerful.
3. Transform Your Limiting Beliefs Into Empowering Beliefs.
Limiting beliefs tell us why we can't. When the 'why you can't' reasons overpower the 'why you can' reasons, self doubt arises. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the 'why you can't' reasons and increase the 'why you can' reasons. The easiest way to do this is through transforming these limiting beliefs into new, empowering beliefs. How do you do this?
Simple. You must look at your limiting belief and identify which part of that belief tells you that you can't accomplish what you desire. Once you have done this, you must begin providing reasons as to why you can, rather than why you cannot. For example, your limiting belief might be 'There's no way I can achieve that because no one in my family has and I'm just not that smart.' First we identify which part of the belief tells us that we can't accomplish what we desire. In this case, it is 'because no one in my family has' and 'I'm not that smart'. Now, we start to list the reasons that we can accomplish what we desire. These may be: 'It might be harder for me, but others have achieved similar results and from similar situations, and although I do not personally know those people, since we are all human, it must also be possible for me', and 'many people who were considered and called "dumb" turned out to be some of the most respected and greatest thinkers in the 21st century. On top of that, many people who were considered dumb by society's standards worked hard and achieved their goals. Therefore, it doesn't matter how smart I am as I can overcome this through hard work.'
