3 Ways Chat GPT AI can Stop Procrastination in Your Coaching Business

Who knew artificial intelligence could help us in our coaching business.

If you're a coach or speaker, you probably have a million things on your mind and a never ending to-do list. Fortunately, AI is making leaps to become very accessible, and I’ve actually found it helpful for my business. It’s useful for brainstorming and getting started on tasks I was procrastinating because they felt overwhelming. Tasks like writing social media content, creating outlines for my videos and more.

The latest AI tool making waves is Chat GPT. If you’re still not familiar with it, let me quickly share how it works. Chat GPT has been created to be like a chat room: you can ask it to produce a variety of things for you, from jokes to subject titles to fully formed articles. Once it comes up with options, you can tell it what sections of writing you like and ask for more content that is similar. It's really set up like a conversation, so you can simply request a command for whatever it is you're looking for and the AI will directly respond to it.

Fantastic, right?

Now you know what it can do for you, we're going to look at three different ways in which you can use artificial intelligence to kick procrastination and be more effective in your coaching business.

1. The first way you can use the AI tool is if you want to create scripts or outlines for YouTube or other types of video.

Right now, Chat GPT is free and you can input and create a YouTube video outline that will help you develop the structure you need for recording. Let's say you want to create a course or you want to record a video, but you're not really sure what information to include. You can work through what you want to focus on by conversing in the chat. If you ask it to create an outline for a video about helping increase business sales, it will give you a list of ideas it comes up with. You can create an outline for anything.

When I'm batch-recording a series of YouTube videos, I like to think about where I want to start and what am I going to talk about in the video. I've got a lot to say, so I use the chat room to see what ideas come out. What I love about this is that even if I don’t use every single point, it helps give me a structure that I didn't have before.

2. The second way is to use artificial intelligence to create a draft for a course or program.

I know that many of my clients procrastinate on creating a program because they think it's difficult. There is so much to think about and plan, but what if you can speed up this process and have something form an outline or draft for you?

You can ask the machine for a course outline on the specific subject your teaching, and have a rough draft to start. You can check it based on what you want to deliver and make edits or ask it for more specific details for a certain section. Am I happy with what it gave me, or do I want to change parts to make it more unique and personal? The AI can give you a bone structure that you can build upon.

I like to use this tool as a starting point. It can immediately create a structure for an entire course or anything you want to sell and then you can modify it to suit your unique selling point and expertise.

3. Lastly, you can create social media content.

This is one thing we know takes a lot of time and effort and it's hard to be consistent. But what if we could use this tool to make creating content faster?

Say you have to write a social media post sharing three ways to wake up early in the morning. Now, something to understand is that chat GPT, like a lot of other artificial intelligence tools, is what we call content aggregators. This means they're not creating things from scratch. They're looking online, finding what are the most common answers, and then they create a post around it. Everyone that writes a post sharing three ways to wake up early in the morning is going to be feeding this tool. That's the caveat of creating content using artificial intelligence. It won't be completely original. You can evolve and change your content, but at first it will seem quite dry and similar to a lot of other content out there. You can chat with the bot and input it to search for things that are less common.

You can also use it with transcripts. Let's say that you’ve recorded a podcast or a short video for social media, but it's long. Take the transcript of that, plug it into GPT, and then ask the AI to write a social media post. Using the transcript can save you a lot of time for creating unique content, and the AI will condense it for you and spit out a selection of ideas to choose from.

This is a beginner's way of using artificial intelligence, and can hopefully help cut procrastination in your work. Try it out for outlines, social media content or getting your course programs started. It will not replicate your personality and unique style or substitute a professional copywriter right now, but it can surely be an ally to keep you moving forward. I find it’s a great brainstorm tool that gets me moving and out of procrastination mode.
