3 Ways to Boost Your Self-Esteem

Are you having a hard time feeling good about yourself?

Sometimes we can be our own worst critic but you have the power to control how you view and appreciate yourself. You are unique and deserve to be happy.

Although our self-esteem fluctuates with daily experiences and changing moods, when you learn self-compassion, you can consistently boost your self-esteem.

So, if you are looking to boost your self-esteem and learn self-compassion, follow these tips to build a more positive perception of yourself:

1. Improve your self-efficacy

to feel capable and resourceful by healthily handling negative events and stress. We typically can’t control or predict unpleasant experiences but we can control how we react to them. For instance, if you receive feedback at work, try to take it as constructive criticism rather than a personal attack.

2. Engage in positive self-talk

by learning how to encourage yourself instead of putting yourself down. So, if you’re worried about presenting at a meeting and doubt your public speaking skills, try to recognize that it is coming from a place of fear and doesn’t reflect your true abilities.

3. Build positive core beliefs

by making affirming statements, such as “I am competent.” How you think about yourself will influence the way you react to situations.?For example, if you are nervous about pitching a new idea to your boss, remind yourself that you have valuable insights.

Next time you find yourself engaging in negative self-talk or doubting your worth, remember these tips so that you can stop being your own worst critic and start becoming your own biggest fan!
