You are probably set up with an identifiable brand and brand message. What your company
might be missing is brand impression. The brand impression is what they know about you and your brand, and is reinforced by consistency in your brand message and presentation.
Jeff Bezos once said that “your brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room”
Here are 3 tips to help reinforce your brand impression, that you can use almost immediately to boost your existing brand.
1) BRAND RECOGNITION AND BRAND COLOURS
Brand recognition is the main ingredient for success. Besides the name of the company, brand recognition relates to the design of the logo, the related graphic elements and your colour scheme. If you have a recognisable logo it is worth sticking to a specific colour or colour plate for all your advertising or brand material.
Keeping a colour theme across all social media platforms promotes brand recognition and has an impact on how a consumer associates your business.
Research has shown that using a specific colour to represent your brand, can cause up to 80% increase in recognition.
For example the combination of red and white, immediately reminds us of coca cola, and blue and yellow; IKEA!
When a customer is able to recognise your brand by its specific logo or colours, this probably means you have reached a good stage of brand awareness and your business has gone from “just another company” to an actual industry name. An established and recognised company is very often associated with the service they offer, which is great for your reputation.
2) YOU ARE THE FACE OF THE BRAND
It is easy to overlook the fact that you, as the company owner are part of your company brand. The way you relate to people and the way you present yourself will influence your client wanting to do business with you or otherwise.
Choosing the right people for your company is crucial. Friendly staff helps promote brand loyalty and generates positive word of mouth promotion of your business. Even if you are not a customer facing company, the way you or your staff answer the phone will make a difference to your brand.
3) SOCIAL MEDIA
If you do not already take advantage of Social Media, now is the time to start! Social media has become a crucial part of the brand and image of a company. It is an effective as well as free method to attract and engage with potential or existing customers. To get started it is important to identify the right social media platforms to be active on, in order to connect with your target audience. Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin are ideal for client interaction.Consistent posting across all channels is key for shaping your brands persona so make sure you put effort into creating a clear social media strategy.
Start conversations with your audience by asking questions. Then take the feedback into consideration and use it to form future strategies or posts.
