The 3 Vehicles: Which Are You Sitting In?

There are 3 vehicles in life, and everyone ends up sitting in one of them sooner or later.

1st Vehicle: Commitment      

This is when you’ve gone all in. You’ve taken risks, advanced, and conquered. This is the vehicle where you’ve taken enough action to succeed. Whether in business, marriage, or any area of your life, if you’re not sitting in the first vehicle you will not be happy long-term. This is not just about material things but about going after your dreams in life. 

The Rolls Royce represents commitment. This vehicle only comes as a result of tremendous amounts of actions—which always come from a deep commitment to success. People who drive a Rolls Royce have been committed to something.

2nd Vehicle: Satisfaction        

This is where you’ve had some success and you at some point became complacent. You said to yourself, “enough is enough” and you settled. You want to just hang on to what you have. You’re satisfied, but don’t want to lose the position you’ve grabbed. Entitlement, complacency, and laziness mark those who sit in this vehicle. Once you sit here in any area of your life, you will soon start to lose more than you win.

The Bentley is just not on the level of the Rolls. People who drive a Bentley are splurging before they’ve truly made it. They are satisfied with the little they have. Rather than waiting for the best of the best, these pretender ballers make their exotic purchases as soon as they are able to afford them.

 3rd Vehicle: Fear                      

While many driving this vehicle have hopes of a better future, some have given up on winning big. You’re often in retreat mode, downsizing and contracting. Some people in this vehicle no longer even bother to show up. There’s a lack of knowledge here because once you don’t know something, you begin to lose confidence. Without confidence, these people no longer take necessary action, because people fear what they don’t know.

When you’re living in fear, you’re driving a beater, no if’s and’s or but’s about it. You can’t afford a Bentley, let alone a Rolls. When you have no money, you live in fear.  

Commitment, satisfaction, fear—these go for any area of your life.

Are you committed to winning more, or are you done winning? If you’re done winning, you will eventually start to lose and slip into fear.

In your career, in your marriage, whatever it is, you’re sitting in one of these 3 vehicles.

The first vehicle stands for growth, the second vehicle stands for status quo, the third vehicle stands for bye-bye.

You can be in the third vehicle—the beater—for a long time, by the way. When you quit at a job, you still may work there for years before they fire you. Just because you quit on your marriage doesn’t mean that you are divorced, it just means that your marriage is going to continue to deteriorate further so long as you sit in that 3rd vehicle.
