#3 University of Oxford, UK - Oxplore (2017)
'The home of big questions'.
Having launched in 2017, Oxplore is in its 6th year and has proved a stand-out platform for engaging with 11 to 18 year olds, challenging them to think, debate and go beyond the normal classroom curriculum. It's a brilliant way of developing the type of critical thinking skills #students are encouraged to develop at university. As a marketing outreach tool to enthuse the next generation of #highereducation students, Oxplore sets high standards and fully merits a place in our #RetroIndex top 50 of the last 10 years.
'Is the internet bad?'
'Does money buy you happiness?'
'Are dogs better than cats?'
'Can you burp in space?'
More than 500 experts have tackled over 3,000 questions suggested by a registered community of over 10,000 students. And it's all underpinned by research from the University of Oxford. Worldwide, there have been over 1.5m visitors and the platform has been spun into over 150 schools workshops in the UK.
Have a look at Oxplore for yourselves, but be warned it's a wormhole of wonder and you may get stuck in it for sometime! Then reflect on how this type of inspiration can be a catalyst for your own ideas to showcase your education offer, to raise aspirations and encourage everyone to embrace the big questions out there.
