3 Types of Networking, When to Do Them, and Why?

If you’re like most people, the thought of reaching out to people you don’t know sounds like as much fun as a trip to the dentist.?

You know you need to do it, but you dread it every step of the way.? The transactional nature of these types of interactions is ripe with the “ick” factor!

By understanding that there are actually different types of networking, it’s easier to:

  • Stay in a place of authenticity,
  • Connect to people with greater ease, and
  • Enjoy the rich opportunities that come out of relationships.?

Each of the 3 types of networking has a different purpose, each is essential, but each one is conducted in different ways at different times.?

By gaining clarity on what you’re doing and why, it gets easier to relax, be yourself, and (perhaps!) even enjoy the conversations that unfold!

Networking is not just the foundation of any successful job search, it’s the key to exploring career paths, sharing knowledge, accessing resources, staying visible, learning real-time market insights, contributing to a community, and fostering long-term relationships.

Why?:? Gather information, advice, and insights you can’t get through online research; and to lay the relational bridge to where you might want to go next.

Actively Hunting

When:?When actively job searching
