Welcome to Denver Business Journal's weekly LinkedIn newsletter. I'm Managing Editor Alicia Cohn, rounding up Denver business news to keep you in the know when time is short.
Ivona Adkins, chief people officer of Bagel Brands, Kathleen Neuheardt, chief financial officer of Bonfire, and Andrea Young, senior vice president of technology at Air Communities, are trailblazers in the C-Suite.
These executives are driving change at their places of business and within their communities. This is the fifth year Denver Business Journal has awarded C-Suite leaders — who are not CEOs — for special recognition, and this year we also highlight three individuals who have blazed a trail for others to follow in their industry.

Note from Alicia: What is an "innovation district," you ask? Look to Atlanta as an example. That city promotes its Midtown Innovation District as a walkable network that connects technology, health and the arts through infrastructure. It includes retail, green space, universities and businesses.

Denver Startup Week recap
Denver Startup Week ran Sept. 19-23, kicking off with a party on the 16th Street Mall and including lots of advice from founders and VCs as well as a pitch competition, where an equestrian coaching platform walked away the winner of $40,000.
Note from Alicia: Did you attend any particularly insightful panels this year at Startup Week? Let us know in the comments.

This weekly round-up of Denver business news was compiled by DBJ's managing editor. Here's an interesting fact I learned this week: Nearly a quarter of people in people in Colorado now work from home — 23.7%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That's one of the highest percentages among the States, where?the number of people primarily working from home tripled between 2019 and 2021 to 27.6 million people, according to the newly-released data.
