People always tell me all the time..."I don't know what to write on LinkedIn"
Don't worry, you're not alone.
In fact,
I do run into this scenario sometimes.
Okay, I lied.
More like 90% of the times.
Sometimes...
It could be the timing of creating the content,
(I mean, who wants to write at the weekends right)
*Cries at the corner*
It could be our imposter syndrome,
Thinking that we have nothing to contribute
Or It can simply be not knowing where to start!
Nada...Absolutely nothing at all.
To be honest, the reason why I've chosen this topic because I ran out of ideas.
As I thought to myself...
"Aha...Why not I share about how I got an idea!"
*cue angels singing*

Topic #1: News & Trends From The Industry
The easiest way to add value for others is to share the latest news or trends within the industry you are in or wanted to enter into.
As you know...
The world is changing fast, like real flippin' fast.
No one has the time or energy to keep up with the news these days.
Especially when they are a distraction away from cute cat videos, celebrity gossips and all the other crazy ?? out there!
If we don't stay updated, we will be eliminated.
Am I right?
If you agreed, then you will be able to understand the significance of keeping up with the latest news (not kardashians).
So, all you can do is just:
1) Go to google search and type in your industry terms (e.g. Digital Marketing)
2) Proceed to select 'google news' and select an article you find interesting
3) Then, write a quick summary of the article & share it with your network
Note: Extra brownie points if you can include the article in the post to increase credibility!
By doing so, both your connections and yourself can learn and grow together.
P.S. I've used this way in pushing myself to keep in touch with the advertising industry!
Topic #2: Explain Industry Jargons
New into the industry?
Constantly bombarded by jargons you don't understand?
Wish that you have a senior to explain all of this to you?
Great.
You get to be that senior you've wished for.
All it takes is 3 simple steps:
1) Google up an industry jargon
2) Read through blogposts out there explaining the jargon
3) Adopt, refine and simplify the explanation with illustrations
This not only help you get used to adopting them,
But you can also understand its fundamental meaning!
P.S. I've used this exact topic to curate my "Metrics Made Simple" series where I explain marketing metrics to my readers with illustrations/audio!

Topic #3: Top Creators To Checkout
Just like how LinkedIn recommend you to add new connections...
You can do it too!
This, is even simpler.
If you already have top creators you enjoy consuming their content,
Why not share it with others so they can learn from them too?
Of course...
Not everybody will like the same creator.
But, this helps the juniors (particularly) to have a reference to consume content from.
In the world out there...
There are too many creators to keep up.
Our job is to deliver relevant creator within the relevant industry to your relevant audience.
You can do so through an example below:
1) "Top X Creators To Follow For X Topic" lead-in for your post
2) Tag the creators within the post
3) Hit the post button
BOOM!
I've used this way to deliver small golden nuggets to my readers.
Plus, your favorite creators might reply back too! ^-^

I know what you're thinkin'...
"Sounds great, but it sounds like so much work to do."
Look....
In the world of content creation, it is a marathon rather than a race.
A (potentially) wise man once said:
"Instead of being the fastest car in the world,
We need to be the most DURABLE car."
When I started writing my first ever LinkedIn post,
I was no different.
In fact, I struggled...a lot.
I remembered I was sharing about my experience as a sponsorship officer and how to sell,
It took me 3 hours 19 minutes and 51 seconds to draft...
Another 2 hours 15 minutes and 1 second to readthrough..
And another 1 minute 2 seconds to hit the publish button.
Thinking that no one would care or too cringey.
But to my surprise,
I started to see people expressing their support and commenting on my first post.
That satisfaction...was indescribable!
From then on,
I kept on writing.
With my second post,
I've reduced my time from original 5 hours 35 minutes 54 seconds...
To 4 hours 15 minutes 4 seconds...
And it kept shrinking from then on.
If you keep exercising your content creation,
Your content will flow better.
Although you can't see it now, it will payback after a while.
Keep on writing fellas!
