3 Tools Every Writer Must Use In The 21st Century

Let's cut to the chase! Writing is hard. Very hard!

Some of us began writing without even understanding the basics (Terrible headlines and useless body texts)

It's a good thing there are so many coaches and mentors now, who are ready to help you become better at paid writing (anything else you do).

You know, I started out using notebooks. I mean I wrote brand copies, articles, and stories in notebooks (long 80 leaves).

Back then, it took me almost 3 hours to write a 500-word article.

Why??

After writing in my notebook, I'd have to type it down into my phone (this was before I got a laptop), and trust me MS Word for mobile was not so responsive then.?

(600 years of suffering for any one who laughs at my handwriting)

Other times, I'd take my work to a cyber cafe to type down and save as a docx file, ready to deliver to my client.

Well, things are better now! I mean you don't see a lot of people writing stories/articles on their notebooks anymore.?

The world has gone digital; Laptops, iPads, and responsive mobile phones, all these have made writing a little bit easier, right?

You didn't respond!?

The world has gone digital; Laptops, iPads, and responsive mobile phones, all these have made WRITING a little bit easier, RIGHT???

It's unfortunate some people still have no idea what the best writing tools to use are.

I'll pay more attention to mobile devices in this episode (we can talk about other devices in subsequent episodes).

If you're a writer, by now working with your mobile phone shouldn't be new to you.?

75% of all written content I curate is done using my phone.?

Writing with a phone gives you another level of freedom to put your thoughts down while on the go.

There are 3 major apps you must have on your mobile phone at all times if you must succeed as a writer.

1. ColorNote

This little blank notebook is a game-changer. Not only does it give you an old-school writing feel, it's responsive and limitless in usage possibility.

What do I mean?

I like to say you can do anything you want with the app.?

Want to write a 30,000-word story? There's no word limit!

Want to note down thoughts to revisit later??You're covered!

It even has a checklist and reminders for those who love scheduling posts.

To the developers of this app, if you're reading this, BLESS YOU!

2. WPS Office

With a standby WPS, you can seamlessly transfer what you've written on your ColorNote.

I know so many of you will go, "Nahhh! I have my Google docs".

While I'm not going to start telling you why you should or shouldn't use docs, get this: Formating on WPS is super easy.

Why do I like it so much that I'm recommending it??

With WPS, you're getting the full content creation and management package, all in one place.?

It has PowerPoint presentation, Excel and Of course, Word.?

If you're a fan of simplicity and ease, then you'll probably fall in love with WPS's ability to multitask, not to mention its out-of-this-world responsiveness (I mean it!)

3. Grammarly

This has to be here. I'm sure you're tired of seeing that name (I know right?)

Well. You. Don't. Have. A. Choice!

Grammarly is a must-have, as long as you are a writer.

The day you uninstall it, is the day you draw your last breath as a writer.

Wait! Don't tell me you're waiting for me to explain why you should have Grammarly installed on your phone.

Sorry. I won't do that!

Go get it installed immediately if you don't already.

(PS: Feel free to ask why in the comment section).

If you can successfully install these 3 apps on your mobile phone, then you're 40% ready to take your writing game to the next level.?

I remain your favorite freelance writing coach, until next week, stay jiggy!
