3 Tips to Win the Content Game

Winning the content game can be accomplished by repurposing your podcast content on social, especially on LinkedIn. It's important to remember: stick to the basics—a few quotes, key takeaways, a basic synopsis, and some video clips.
Here are tips to be better and to create better micro-content.
Create content that adds value to people's lives.?
Repurposing content directly from a podcast interview can be tricky. Many soundbites lack the context, emotion, and depth of a full-length conversation, so we must select wisely. The movie industry knows the importance of "bite-sized" chunks by investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in clips, promos, and movie trailers to get our butts in theater seats. They do their best to create intrigue, suspense, humor, and emotion within 30–60 seconds, which is worth the risk to create awareness and buzz for their film.
One way to ensure people know what you're doing is by being consistent with your content and aligned with your brand's core values. Finding relevant bits and "gold nuggets" from your aligned conversations requires awareness of your mission and message. It also needs time and effort to select the right pieces that are clear, engaging, and complimentary to the brand's voice and content pillars.
Share content where you are passionate and knowledgeable.
People can tell if you're not into something. How can you expect your audience to be engaged if you're bored or uninterested yourself? So, be very selective with your guests to ensure you're covering topics of interest to you. If someone asks to be on your podcast, make sure you do your research before accepting. Find this person's podcast interviews, videos, social media posts, and overall personal brand and reputation before saying yes. Occasionally, I will do a pre-interview with someone outside of my network to ensure they're a good fit and a person I'd like to know. Always keep your brand, core values, and message consistent; in doing so, you'll maintain your passion and be inspired to keep going for years.
Embrace the F Word!
Find ways to "focus" by developing systems for success and eliminating distractions. I've implemented a "creative time" block to create opportunities to write, record, and plan my content for the coming weeks. As entrepreneurs, we all suffer from "shiny object syndrome" <SQUIRREL!!!> where was I? Oh, yeah, distractions… placing your phone away from your desk (preferably outside your office) during this time may be helpful. Going analog and putting pen to paper is also a good break from our digital world.
If you're suffering an actual "creative block" or feel you're in a creative rut, try a change of scenery. Working in a coffee shop, going on a nature walk, or chatting with another creative person, may get your juices flowing again. Remember, don't fight it. Work (or walk) through the process. Managing your stress is also important as a content creator. I'm the clearest after meditation, exercise, and an ice-cold shower in the early morning, which sets me up to be in a high-level creative thinking zone.

Ultimately, repurposing your content is always a great way to pave the road that leads to you. Offering value first will build trust with your audience over time. At the same time, you'll establish yourself as the expert in your niche. Depending on how much you share about yourself, you'll paint a more detailed picture of yourself in the minds of your audience.?
With these tips and strategies implemented, you'll reach a larger audience to grow your podcast and personal brand. Coupled with systems and a team of experts to hold you accountable, they will help you stay consistent and keep your company and brand relevant to your growing audience.
