3 Tips to Help you Have a Championship Year (Go Dawgs!)

Congratulations to The University of Georgia Bulldogs for winning their second straight national championship. Reflecting upon some of the leadership traits required to achieve such a tenacious goal, here are 3 things to consider as you prepare to have a championship year.

  1. Adopt a winning mindset. Having a winning mindset is about the intentions and ambitions that you set personally and collectively. It’s about believing that you can achieve superior results, even during adversity, and having the willingness to do the hard work necessary to accomplish your goals.
  2. Cultivate a Higher Level of Discipline. Imagine winning the championship the first year and then preparing to win it again the second year. While you start the year as a Champion, you must earn it all over again. Winning again requires a higher level of focus and a greater amount of mental toughness. It requires that you remain consistent in your practice regimen and you look to improve, even though you have reached a pinnacle of success. Making the decision and commitment to remain steadfast in your routine will ultimately prepare you for the next victory.
  3. Stay flexible and resilient. To win twice, it is important to adopt an agile mindset that is prepared to face new challenges. It’s about navigating periods of intense pressure while staying focused on the goal. It’s about not giving up and looking for alternative solutions when faced with adversity. The ability to have a growth mindset, where you pivot, and learn from your setbacks will provide you with a competitive advantage.

The Georgia Bulldogs started the year by showing us what a winning mindset can accomplish. What are you planning to do differently this year to accomplish your goals? How will you harness discipline and consistency to ensure that you have a successful year? Are you prepared to do the hard work?

This year is special. You have what it takes to have a wildly triumphant year. I am cheering for you and wishing you continued success. Happy Championship Year!
