3 things you should be doing on LinkedIn
3 things you should be doing on LinkedIn
Whether you’re looking for a new job or not, here’s my top three things you should be doing on LinkedIn this week.
Engaging with relevant posts
I’m talking liking, sharing, and… if you’re feeling brave… commenting. This starts to get you a little bit more visibility from your network. It also shows that you’ve got some credibility in your space, which can only be a good thing. Unless you’re trolling someone. Don’t do that. Don’t be that guy.
Requesting recommendations from people in your network
This is 10 times more powerful than just leaving someone’s contact details on your CV. Ok not officially 10 times. I may have made that up. I’ve not done the deep dive into the stats. But you get what I’m saying. Someone putting their name (and face) to a recommendation of you again adds credibility. (Pls don’t question my credibility here)
Connecting with people in the talent acquisition teams you want to work for
This shows a proactive approach and it gives you a brilliant flavour of your dream company. It also just gets you on people’s radar. It can feel like popping your head above the parapet but hey, this is social media - you need to be seen.
Don’t be scared of LinkedIn - once you get into these habits, you’ll feel much more comfortable building your own personal brand within your profile and it’ll easily become second nature.
Try these 3 simple things and let me know how you get on.
