Here is an article on the top three things (Videos, Books, Apps, Tools, Music, etc) that made a difference to my week. You might also find them useful.
This week it was...
1)?Making time for the people you love...
2)?Healthy meals and meal preps...
3) Getting on the move...

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.?They might also be useful for you, or not.
1)?Making time for the people you love...
It's that time of the year again where we don't really know what month it is or day. Did you know that we only have 6 months left in the year? What did we actually do in the first half of the year? Did we even come close to achieving our new year resolutions? One thing I have tried to focus on is spending and allocating enough quality time with the ones that mean the most to me, so I did just that. Last weekend Chris and I decided to book a weekend away somewhere not too loud or busy to enjoy each other's company. We had the most amazing time at the Lindenderry Red Hill. Drove around and stopped at anything that caught our eye. There is something about going out without an agenda and letting the universe tell you what to do, those days always end up being the best! After what was an amazing weekend away, drinking wine, dining out, going for long walks and sitting by a fireplace we decided to do this once every 2 months. So when was the last time you spent quality time with your loved ones?
2)?Healthy meals and meal preps...
So staying on top of your health sometimes can be challenging so we need to find a way to stay on top of it. For my house it was ensuring that we are eating healthy home cooked meals at least 5 times a week. That can be?a challenge at times when you both finish work late and get home exhausted. So what we have done for the last 2 weeks is sit down and meal prep our week. What is for lunch and dinner, based on that we put together our groceries list and press submit on our order. We do our shop online, not only is it time efficient but also the woolies app lets you in on all the specials they have on that week plus a bonus is they have 100+ recipes for you to choose from. Sunday night comes around and we make our?lunches for the week, to try and remove any tension between thinking about lunch in the morning as you are going to work. These might seem like basic and simple things, but it's the small things that when done right can help you take a step closer to achieving your goals.
3) Getting on the move...
So I might be deciding to write about this just to keep me more accountable. I must admit that I have been a little slack on my physical activity, so after pushing myself around I sat down and figured out what I can do to really make this work. I’ve picked up Pilates again, but I've also changed my location. I did this because I now need to pre book and pay advance for my classes. This actually motivated me to get up, get dressed and go to the actual class. Funny that a few days?ago I was on the radio with Dr. Ben and we spoke about the effects of the lack of physical activity on the human body. We mentioned that all we need to do is 70 minutes of vigorous activity per week to reduce and eliminate your chances of cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes and the list goes on. So together, let's work towards creating a better and healthier future for ourselves and our loved ones. Till next time?<3
Super important to find a group of like-minded people that will challenge you, champion you, and inspire you to stay on track. Who do you have championing you at the moment?
The quote of the week is...
“Smile and let everyone know that today, you’re a lot stronger than you were yesterday.”?- Unknown
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, the moral of the story, or the learning you would share.?
Have a ripper finish to your week.
Cheers!
Dr. Ben
