3 Things to Normalize for Business Success

I hold a weekly group coaching call for the women in my business accelerator programme. It's my favourite meeting of the day and is always such a huge buzz for me to spend time with them and to hear their wins, support their challenges and empower them to build incredible businesses...

Each week I offer a little bit of teaching to support their business development and give them a little focus for the week...

This week's focus though proved to be more challenging than most - because it focused on the idea so different to everything that we've been taught and wired to believe.

So for today's #SaturdayServing, I'm sharing 3 concepts every woman in business needs to normalize, to supercharge their success.

Normalize Testing

The first of these is normalizing the idea of testing and results, rather than success or failure.

It's so easy for us as people in general and women, in particular, to want to hide so that they don't find themselves in a situation of making 'mistakes' in public.

The risk of being ridiculed, embarrassed or publically wrong is so high that the fear often moves people to inertia and procrastination - all in an attempt to try and avoid outcomes you don't like.

But inertia leads you to no results of any kind and as such stymies the growth and progress of your business

By normalising the notion of 'testing' the outcomes are merely results. Devoid of judgement, or shame or embarrassment. They are merely data points supporting a better understanding of the activities that you undertook. Normalizing testing means that every data point has value and information that is welcomed because it supports your growth and improvement.

Normalize Rejection

I've never seen a product with 100% conversion rates each time.

This means that rejection is already a powerful part of any success story - and yet we wrap it up in so much shame and blame that we have no idea what to do with it.

No matter how exciting or amazing your offer is, you're not going to get all the people hearing about it accepting it.

That means that rejection IS normal

So it's time to stop viewing it as a problem or a reason for shame - and start making powerful use of the value of those that say no.

Normalize Seasonality

It's so important to recognise that the eternal growth that we've been sold in the capitalist paradigm are in fact NOT true to life or nature.

Nature works in season, and so does your business

There will be times of plenty, and of fewer

Times to sow and times of harvest.

Nothing grows forever... it's so important to have all the seasons present to create the most sustainable environments for growth

So it's so important to normalize the seasonality that comes with business too - as this will create a balance and measure needed to create a sustainable and successful business.

In summary

See the fact is that there are so many things that we would benefit from normalization in, and enabling us to see things differently, and by doing so - we will be able to supercharge our growth just by making better use of the experiences that will be part and parcel of our experiences as we build our businesses.

Definitely Normalise Rejection. I like to think of it being 1 step closer to getting accepted If you took rejection personally you wouldn't find it easy running your own business, male or female
