What’s in the Debt-Ceiling Deal:?President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reached an agreement to raise the debt ceiling, with the text of the legislation being released late Sunday. The deal, which comes after several long days of talks, raised the debt ceiling until January 2025, past the next presidential election.?Now comes another challenge- Getting the pact through a divided Congress in a matter of days.?The concessions needed to get the deal done are already unpopular with certain members on both sides of the aisle, complicating efforts to squeeze legislation through the House and the Senate before the US runs out of money to pay its bills. That day could come as early as June 5.

?Stock futures rise as debt deal faces next hurdle: Stock market news today:?US stock futures were tentatively higher on Tuesday morning, kicking off a shortened trading week amid hopes the hard-won deal-ceiling deal would get through a divided Congress in a matter of days.?Contracts on the S&P 500 (^GSPC) were up 0.62%, while those on the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) rose 1.39%. But those on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) were down 0.02%.
