3 Things That Changed My Life (And Can Change Yours Too)

There are many paths to transformation and there are certainly more than three things that can change a person’s life. In my journey to transformation, I have tried many promising techniques and strategies. Some worked and some didn’t. In this podcast, I shared three of the things that worked and significantly changed my life.

The 3 powerful things that elicited the change that I want in my life are:

- Being mindful of the words I use

- Aligning inputs with my desired outputs

- Practicing self-care

Words

Our brain naturally protects us hence it is wired to look for threats and, in a way, it puts more focus on the negative side of things. The more we feed our brain with negative and self-limiting thoughts, the more it focuses on what we don’t have, what we are not capable of, what we should not do, and the like.

But the good news is that we can change that outcome by simply changing the words we tell others and most especially ourselves. Using positive and constructive words introduces abundance into our lives and allows us to focus more on opportunities rather than threats. This allows us to operate not in scarcity, but in abundance.

Inputs

One of the reasons why we do not achieve our desired outcome is because what we’re doing and thinking are not actually aligned with the result that we want to see. Thus, to change our outcomes or outputs, we must change our inputs, the content that we allow our brains to consume.

For instance, if we want to see a positive change in our financial behaviors then let’s consume materials that align with that such as financial literacy books, videos, articles, and the like. Let’s consume materials that are insightful and helpful in achieving our desired results.

Self-care

Self-care could be as luxurious as buying expensive health products, having a two-week vacation, and staying at a health and wellness resort. But it could also be as simple as drinking enough water, getting a good night’s sleep, or just sitting in silence for a moment.

We have our own definitions of self-care and what one perceives as self-care may not be for another. But if there’s one thing we can all agree on is that self-care is anything that we do to nourish ourselves. And it is a key to living a well-balanced, joyful, and fulfilling life.

To know more about how I practically applied these three things in my life, listen to our podcast [here](https://youtu.be/iShHt6Spk_M) and see how you can also practice them to lead, design, and create the life that you want.
