Yesterday, we had the amazing opportunity to bring together hundreds of brilliant minds at the Occupancy Intelligence Summit. It was a fantastic day filled with lively discussions, fresh ideas, and valuable insights from some of the top workplace leaders.?

From cutting-edge technology to innovative strategies for optimizing workspaces, we all left feeling inspired and excited about the future of workplace design and management. Whether you were there in person or couldn’t make it, here are the three key takeaways we think everyone should know:

A single platform for occupancy intelligence

1. Introducing the VergeSense Occupancy Intelligence Platform

Dan Ryan, CEO and co-founder of VergeSense, along with VP of Product Kanav Dhir, unveiled the next evolution of VergeSense: single platform for occupancy intelligence. This new platform integrates data from WiFi, sensors, space booking systems, and other existing building systems, revolutionizing the way occupancy planners, space designers, and facilities directors make decisions. It promises to streamline analysis, save time, and forever change how workspaces are managed.

2. Optimizing Workspaces for a Remote-First, Hospitality-Driven World

Our first customer speaker, Noel McNulty from Twilio, gave us an inspiring look into how they’re rethinking the traditional office. Noel shared his journey creating spaces that support a remote-first, event-based workplace strategy, designed to bring people together in meaningful ways. Twilio has transformed their offices into hospitality-inspired environments that feel more welcoming and engaging, with a strong focus on enhancing employee experiences.

Noel and his team understand that the role of the office has changed in a hybrid world. It’s no longer just a place to work—it’s a space that needs to foster collaboration, creativity, and connection. By designing spaces that feel more like inviting destinations, they’re fostering deeper engagement and creating experiences that make people want to come into the office.

3. Data-Driven Space Planning and Design

Our second speaker, Mark Karma from Genentech, shared a glimpse into how his team is using data to transform the way they plan and design their workspaces. Whether it’s an office, lab, or manufacturing space, data plays a crucial role in helping them make smarter, more informed decisions.

Mark walked us through how they leverage data to fine-tune everything—from seat-sharing ratios to deciding which lab equipment to invest in. With real-time insights into how their spaces are being used, they’re able to optimize layouts, ensure the right tools are available where they’re needed most, and even plan ahead for future growth. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about using those numbers to create spaces that truly support the needs of the people who use them every day.

We wrapped up the day with an engaging live Q&A session, where workplace leaders openly discussed the challenges they face and shared strategies for success. The Summit was full of learning, connection, and inspiration, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.?

If you missed out, don’t worry—this is just the beginning. Register now and receive access to a full recording of the event.?

We can’t wait for the next Summit, where we’ll continue to explore how data and innovation are shaping the future of workspaces. Stay tuned, and we hope to see you there!
