?Welcome to #FundraiseWithAllwell Week 40.
It is wild to remember that we have been on this journey of sharing actionable fundraising insights for Global Majority NGOs week after week for the last 10 months ?? .
Thank you for keeping faith with me and making this effort to turbocharge the resource mobilization of NGOs so much fun ?? .
This March, #FundraiseWithAllwell is sharing insights on how African NGOs can develop individual giving to diversify their incomes and enhance their financial sustainability ?? .
With individual giving, African NGOs can secure unrestricted income to power their work, grow their base of loyal supporters and democratize access for the public to support their impact.
However, It is important to bear the following tips in mind to ensure the success of your individual giving program. ?
?Success Tips for Individual Giving
1?? Show them what is possible with each donation amount. The individual donor might belittle how far their gift could go. And that makes sense as they probably think you are used to working with hundreds of thousands of dollars from your government, multilateral and foundation donors.
It is your duty to let them know their $5 small monthly gift will go far in making a difference for your beneficiaries. Paint a picture of what each donation amount will accomplish in the field and invite them to hop on your impact train at whatever level they choose.
2?? Make it easy to give. You want the individual donors to have a seamless donation experience. Your compelling email campaigns should have pulled at their impact heart strings so the last thing you need is a poor donation page that puts them off.
Choose the right donation platform. Have a strong call to action. Ensure the donors can easily pay with their card details. Show them how to commit to a monthly donation rather than a one-off transaction.
3?? Appreciate the individual donor and keep them updated on your progress. Treat the individual donor as the people that they are. People need to be appreciated and made to feel special. Thank them immediately and profusely for investing in your mission.
Recall that you sold them a compelling picture of the impact they could make by partnering with you. Now that you have their donation, you owe it to them to share regular updates on how you are progressing on that mission. What did you accomplish with their financial support? How did you change the lives of your beneficiaries?
And it's a wrap, friends! What success insights do you have from running your individual giving campaigns?
