The 3 steps to re-open - are you ready?

The 3 steps to re-open - are you ready?

Today is tough – Tomorrow will be, well, different. Things will re-open and we need to be prepared!

Whilst some of the World continues to be in lockdown, other parts are relaxing restrictions. Children are out playing in Spain, beaches are open in the USA and offices, buildings and shops are starting to re-open, and this will just grow over time.

Whilst we are told things will never be the same again, let's worry about that then. Today, we have to deal with the now, the new normal!

Here at Dexter, we’ve started to look at the actions we think businesses will need to do to prepare to open. Then to open, and then, continue to stay safe.

We see this as three stages...Prepare, Protect, Persist.

Prepare – The steps you need to take before you re-open your business.

  • Thoroughly deep clean and disinfect/sanitise your premises
  • A review of government guidelines and a plan to implement them in your business
  • Policies, processes and procedures for your staff, visitors and customers
  • Staff training to ensure they can follow the processes
  • Purchase of PPE and cleaning supplies so you can keep staff safe and your property sanitised

Protect – How you protect your staff, customers, & visitors on your premises?

  • Putting in place systems to scan for high temperatures if your premises needs it would take the latter out, would there be any premises not needing that? Really everybody wants to keep their staff safe right
  • Marking out floors to comply with social distancing
  • Marking desks out so that people aren’t close or provide cough screens where this isn’t possible
  • Providing hand sanitisers, soap and cleaning products to help everyone stay clean
  • Ensure PPE is worn where relevant, necessary and appropriate

Persist – Ensuring that you keep working safely and appropriately.

  • Ongoing staff monitoring to ensure they comply with policies
  • Evening or morning intense cleaning before your property opening
  • Effective stock management to ensure you maintain stocks of cleaning products and PPE
  • Continued review of all policies and procedures to ensure you reflect current government recommendations
  • Keeping customers, staff, visitors, and suppliers up to date with what you have done.

So when should you start doing this, well that's easy... NOW!

By looking at this now, you will be prepared for the re-opening of businesses and be able to say you have done it in a way that protects people – your staff, your customers and your business.

At DexterGBS, as well as our cost reduction procurement programmes, we actively seek ways to help businesses with PPP. We can help you with:

  1. Finding businesses to help you deep clean your premises as a one-off, daily or weekly
  2. Obtaining PPE and cleaning products to help your staff and property stay safe
  3. Connecting you to the only provider of viable temperature measuring kit and advising you on purchase and implementation
  4. Helping you to write policies and communications for staff and customers
  5. Provide you with support to reduce your costs in spend areas where possible whilst you incur operating cost to protect your business in the short term
  6. Manage your relationship with suppliers who might have suffered due to actions you have taken to limit Covid-19 impact
  7. Connect you to resources and information where required

Do get in touch and we can help you prepare for the re-opening, whenever it comes. And ensure your staff, customers and visitors are protected.
