3 Steps to Find the Right Career or Business For You

According to Gallup, 85% of employees are unhappy with their jobs. This is negatively impacting the company's profits due to absenteeism, sickness, and high?turnover. Employees who are unhappy with their jobs cost the world $7.8 trillion in lost productivity, equal to 11% of the global GDP.?(source: CNBC)

3 C'S TO FIND THE RIGHT CAREER OR BUSINESS FOR YOU

After my 70+ Linkedin live, this is what I learned from the business owners who have successfully transitioned from employment?to entrepreneurship.

1. Choice

Charlie Fernando started his business in his 40s while Royan Nidea started his company in his 20s.

I learned that starting a business is never about age but more about choice.

A choice to bet and believe in yourself.

A choice to solve other people's problems and get paid for it.

A choice to start over even after failing like how Royan failed in 12 businesses and Myrna Tam-Natividad failed in over 20 businesses.

The truth is that the most successful people have failed many times and here are a few more examples of famous failures.

2. Clarity

There are limitless opportunities to earn money but a lot of people lose their money because of investing in the wrong people, businesses, or investments.?

The business owners who have successfully transitioned from employment?to entrepreneurship have clarity.

Clarity on investing themselves first to get the right guidance from programs, seminars, and coaches to achieve their goals.

Clarity on being comfortable making mistakes because that is part of the learning.

Clarity on never giving up until they achieve success in their own terms and conditions.

3. Consistency

This is the simplest yet most difficult thing to do as most business owners shared.

Consistently showing up even if the results they wanted are not happening.

Consistently working every day to make things happen.

Consistently?learning and growing to adapt to change.

I learned that whether you want to change?jobs or start a business, these 3Cs can help you find the right career or business for you.

It is also equally important to take an inventory of your talents, skills, experience, and expertise. Your relationships, struggles, and successes are important too. Your birth date also holds a clue about the right career or business for you. Everything in your life is part of your journey to your next career or business.

In 2020, when I wrote a short workbook called 'Purpose Driven Career: What Am I Meant To Do?'. I just wanted to summarize my journey about how I found the right business for me after failing in over 5 businesses.
