In fast-paced work environments, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and busyness, but it’s important that you’re able to take a step back and prioritize the little things that will aid your progress.

If you want to continue to be a great leader or continue your journey to becoming one, then you can NEVER STOP LEARNING.

Let’s look at 3 things you need to do to ensure you continue climbing the ladder toward elite leadership:

1. Find a Battle Buddy
You don’t have all the answers, so why would you fight the battle alone? Leadership is hard, so having a mentor, encourager, and hard-working peer is crucial. I wouldn’t be close to the leader I am today without the battle buddies I’ve had along the way to encourage and push me to continue getting better.
?
2. Be a Self-Coach, Not a Self-Critic
If you’re like most people who are striving to get better then you’re probably your biggest critic. That’s a strength in the sense that you’ll never settle for average, but a weakness in that you fail to appreciate your success and improvements. John Maxwell said it best: “You either win, or you learn.” Adopt that mindset.

You don’t fail or come up short, you just learn ways that don’t work.
?
3. Develop Your Skills
Just because you’ve read or heard something once before doesn’t mean you’ve mastered it. If you want to be GREAT, then you have to do what the great do. Never settle for good enough. Stay in pursuit of greatness in your personal and professional skills. Keep growing!
