3 Steps back. 1 Launch forward.
Perhaps I've given myself a little too much credit, but for years, I've been lauded for being a forward thinker when it comes to comics (books) and navigating my way into the industry. Of particular note, has been my U Cre-8 Comics brand -- a project centered around showcasing the educational merits of the comic book medium. But for years -- practically, since its inception -- I've only looked at the brand from that singular perspective, limiting both my ideas on marketing, web presentation and direct sales. After five years of its use (yeah...I've struggled with settling down long enough to really examine it), I've finally reconciled that what I presumed was a singular marketing platform, was AT LEAST three.
Above, is a graphic I worked on to kind of represent the new ideas I'm considering for this project, using a proposed website redesign to highlight each platform separately. My apologies if the color scheme doesn't quite work (earliest feedback has shown that my mutant ability for color separation isn't universal and most can't distinguish between the yellows and thinest white fonts as easily), but the illustration of the concept behind the brand's "new" purpose and ideologies should still shine through.
Main theme: THINKING
Using a brainstorming web as the basis, I want set the stage that use of this site and it's products are all about thinking, particularly in terms of being creative.
Three Platforms: Personal - Education - Practical
While education is possibly the most recognizable and even profitable function of the U Cre-8 Comics brand, it's certainly not the only one and here I'm able to highlight each attribute separately. (The goal is that the red subjects would act as links that would activate the text surrounding them -- in general, they wouldn't be visible when you first view the page).
So, now that I've got a better idea of WHAT the U Cre-8 Comics brand is and how to market it, I just need someone who knows Wordpress well enough to build a [better] version of it...any takers...?
