3 Steps to Acing a Big Tech Interview

Through the Prodigy Conference, I have had the chance to talk to a bunch great engineers who were able to land their dream job at a Big Tech company (think Twitch, Google, Amazon, etc...).

After hours of conversation with these amazing people, I found three main themes. Here they are, reorganized into actionable steps.

1. Make your resume readable by a bot ??

All the Big Tech companies use a resume scraper to filter out many of the candidates. Make sure you use something like LaTeX to create your resume so that it can be easily read by a robot and the recruiter.

2. Study Data Structures and Algorithms ??♂?

Make sure you have a solid understanding of the foundational concepts of computer science, and apply your knowledge by practicing LeetCode questions. Practice LeetCode regularly, even if you don’t have an interview coming up.

3. Riz your way to the top ??

Inter-personal skills play a big role in the day to day life of an engineer, so it is important to show the interviewer that you would be an easy person to work with. Be friendly during the interview, and try to communicate like you are talking to a friend.
