THE 3 STAGES OF AN ENTREPRENEUR

STAGE 1 - The Storming Phase.

Excitement races through your body. It's such a liberating feeling knowing that you are taking #control. You can see the freedom off in the distance & hope fills your thoughts. You voraciously start self educating & your mindset starts evolving. Your excitement causes you to start telling others about your goals & a funny things happens. Instead of massive love & support you hear all the reasons why it won't work. HUH? Your parents tell you why it's important to "stay in a stable job until you've saved up more #money" or "finish college & in a few years you can think about stuff like that" or "that's way too risky don't do it". Your best friend says "oh...I've tried something like that in the past & failed" or "you don't have any money or resources or connections etc.". People on social media giving their opinions or worse...start hating because they are sick of seeing you post about it.

So you start second guessing yourself. Start changing directions. Start hesitating. THIS IS THE WRONG THING TO DO IN THIS MOMENT. Instead double down your energy towards getting your business off the ground & shut off all the outside noise. STOP telling people about your plans & get hyper focused on executing on them. Listen to your GUT and keep moving forward. Remember...it's not their fault they are acting this way. No one taught us how to be successful. Not our parents...not our teachers. Your #ambitions are reminding people of their own shortcomings & causing people who love you to want to "protect you"...noting more so don't give their words meaning!

STAGE 2 - The Forming Phase

It's been 6 months. Each day your are grinding it out 24/7 working relentlessly to build your #brand. You're making some money but no where near the amount you know is possible. You come to realize there is only 24 hours in a day & if you really want to feel progress you have to enroll others to help you. So you hire your first few team members. Roles, responsibilities, & expectations are set. Energy is multiplied and momentum is starting to build. Like a #coach cheerleading on your team you push them towards your vision. The team starts to take ownership of their roles & over the next year culture starts to form. Your job is to build the brand, manage cashflow & create culture. Their job is to execute on your ideas. Keep going...this is the boring yet critical stage that takes forever. Now you’re a business owner!

STAGE 3 - The Norming Phase

DAD: "I always knew you could do it." MOM: "I'm so proud of my son (daughter)." BEST FRIEND: "Can I get a job?" PEOPLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA: "Can you teach us how to do what you do, you are the greatest?!"

We’ve now come full circle.

This phase is awesome because you created something valuable. Something real. A legacy you can be #proud of. Yes, you will still have doubters & opinions. Probably even worse than in the beginning...but, you are mentally tough and that stuff doesn't bother you anymore. Pride fills your heart because you are truly free. Free to control your decisions & your time. This is why you fought through all that pain. All those sacrifices. For this moment. Relish it. Enjoy it. You earned it! This is your world now & no one can take it away from you.
