3 simple rules for success in business that I follow

There's so much information out there, that it's difficult to know what advice you should follow. You wouldn't believe how many different things I have tried if I told you.

Here's a few simple rules I learnt for success in business, I have learnt these from spending hundreds on books, thousands on courses, and more on mentors. To be successful in business, you need to have a clear understanding of what you're doing and stay focused on your goals.

Only learn from credible sources

It's tempting to believe everything we read on the internet or see in a YouTube video, but it's important to remember that not all sources are credible. In fact, many of the articles or videos we view online are created by people who have no expertise in the topic they're talking about. So before you believe anything you read, make sure that you're only getting your information from credible sources.

Tai Lopez (one of my mastermind mentors), said out of all of the people he has met in his life, only 2 of them knew what they were talking about. Most people don't, so watch who you take advice from.

Learn how to manage your strengths

Peter Drucker, a business consultant and writer, once said "managing oneself is the most important task in life." In order to be successful, it's necessary to learn how to manage your strengths and weaknesses. It's also important to be aware of your limitations and focus on your areas of expertise. By doing so, you can improve your productivity and become a more effective leader.

I'm an extrovert, so I need to run my business like an extrovert. So getting on video on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, speaking in front of audiences, are the best way for me to manage my strengths. Likewise, if you're an introvert you should do things which are suited to locking yourself away and building. I.E. writing code, writing instead of speaking etc.

You have to have persistence to win in business

Most people set themselves a short term goal and expect long term results:

"I'll do this major feat in 6 months, or I'm a failure!

"If I don't have a million in year, I'm an idiot!"

They're bound to fail.

In order to be successful in business, you have to have persistence. It's not going to be easy, and there will be times when you feel like giving up, but if you keep pushing through, you will eventually reach your goals. There are many examples of people who were successful only after they refused to give up:

  • Bill Gates dropped out of college, but he didn't give up on his dream of starting a computer company.
  • Walt Disney was fired from his job at a newspaper company, but he didn't give up on his dream of creating cartoons.
  • Richard Branson started several businesses that failed before he finally found success with Virgin Atlantic Airways. So don't give up; keep persisting until you achieve your goals.
  • Ray Kroc was a failed milkshake salesman at 52 years old before he built Mcdonalds and 20 years later had a net worth of 400 million.

Again, these are just some simple rules I have followed that have done me well: Make sure you learn from credible sources so that you are armed with the most accurate information. Also, learn how to manage your strengths and weaknesses, and be persistent in your efforts. If you can do these things, you are on your way to achieving success in business.
