The 3 secrets to wear a clear lens

The 3 secrets to wear a clear lens

Love, hope & celebrations all around! That's what I only saw in front of my eyes on December 2019 new year eve. I carried my goals and expectations as I entered the next year. Year 2020 brought a special aura of mystery with it which was unraveled shortly.

Warning: You will not read the narrative for the zillionth time about what year 2020 will be remembered for.

You will read how you CAN see
what you WANT to see in your future!

And if you want to step into 2021, learning how to have more control on your lens and to keep your vision clear under all sorts of aberration, then here are the 3 keys that can help you unlock uncalled dilemmas in life!

  1. Blink Less, Focus More

It is easy said than done but then which deal has zero risk involved? When I set the goal for pursuing higher qualification, it was my foremost dream to achieve it. The key word is "my dream"! Year 2020 began with high hopes for promising career and starry personal achievements. However, by the first quarter the world was hit by the worst undetectable speed hump of the decade. I felt it too!

The lens started getting blurred with the fear on how to manage the financial commitments for the enrollment of my studies. The timelines were limited and due to some critical personal pressures, it became difficult to see the clear road ahead leading successfully towards my goal.

I was about to quit. But then determination, commitment & concentration seeped in to drive me towards my dream!

The three allies helped my lens to stay clear and despite the bumpy road, my drive was steady and progressive. Today, I am happy to say, I see myself exactly the same way as I had imagined when stepping in year 2020. The key is I remained focused and held onto the wheel firmly to reach the finish line triumphant.

2. Talk Less, Read More

It is undoubtedly entertaining to express your thoughts through words especially when they are spoken without any limitations. But are those words heavy on scale or are they so light failing to settle in anybody's mind?

I wanted to say a lot as year 2020 gave birth to many feelings and emotions in my life. So, I chose to built my sentences mindfully which came from intentional reading!

Reading is not a habit but a discipline that I decided to adopt this year. I searched for books, blogs, articles and journals that can enrich my thoughts on how I wanted to see myself. Instead of opting for infographics on infected numbers every day, I chose to read 'The Power of Possibility' by Rob Hartnett. Instead of injecting political, religious, racial global conflicts, I subscribed for 'SUCCESS' online magazine that provides a unique window into the lives, practices and philosophies of world's greatest leaders, including TOP CEOs, revolutionary entrepreneurs and many more!

I learned to invest more time in absorbing the plethora of wisdom from the global experts. It helps in decluttering my mind from unwanted information and creates more space for what I want to see in life.

I want to see myself healthy, happy, grateful, serving leader and a thriving individual. I chose to talk less about it, and read more how to become one.

The secret is as I learn the methods, I follow and act upon them. The results speak for itself. Less efforts, more results.

3. Deny Less, Accept More

I lost my father this mid-year, and the last time we met was 15 months ago before he departed on his eternal journey. I suffered chronic skin allergy that has led to lifelong medication. In addition, I heard and felt the pain of so many around who had financial, health, emotional related sufferings. The question popped up, 'Why did it happen'?

The answer I found is,

'It happened for a reason, accept it and live on.'

Denial is the most comfortable yet risky phase of emotional and mental trauma. It is easy to keep on negating the truth, refusing to own the changes in the environment occurred in your life. You remain stuck at your own will in the dark hole and do not make an effort to push yourself out of it. The more extended this period is, the more challenging it gets.

What has happened in year 2020 commonly known as 'unprecedented' has to be accepted as a 'landmark' for emotional revolution. When I look back I see myself as a person who thrived to become more patient, grateful, visionary, mindful, vulnerable and hopeful. I don't see a daughter losing her parent helplessly, I see the person I wanted to see for myself!

The key is you have to grow through the fears and own the transformed you.

I hope these simple beliefs can help you to see how you want to see yourself in year 2021! I will be delighted to read about your outlook on yourself and your journey in the coming years. Please share comments and enlighten everyone.

About seeing the future and blurred lenses. I finally went to my optometrist when my eyes constantly reminded me it was time. The receptionist wanted my old pairs of glasses, the sunglasses for daytime and the pair of clear glasses for night driving. She walked away with the glasses, I assumed to ascertain the prescription. She returned in a couple minutes and handed them back to me. I put the clear glasses on and gazed at my surroundings. I was amazed, I haven't seen this crystal clear in a long while. I switched to the sunglasses and the experience of non-blurred vision was a beautiful thing. While she readied the paperwork for my exam I continued to enjoy my newfound site. ”What did you do back there with my glasses? I asked. ”I cleaned them.” She replied.

It's fact Ruheena. In addition, only then one will be in a position to motivate, urge and guide others to drive them in a pre-detetermined direction for accomplishing the objectives of any Organisation. In absence, one can't see how he wants to see himself.

loved this, Ruheena. felt like more than the sum of its parts. would have liked to be able to highlight. the phrase “accept it and live on” feels encouraging and light-filled, whereas the more commonplace “move on” has always felt chilly to me, if not harsh and judgmental. good for you!
