3 Secrets to Magnetic Energy – Secret 1: Dare To Believe

3 Secrets to Magnetic Energy – Secret 1: Dare To Believe

In my last blog, we discussed the loneliness and lack of meaning epidemic in workplace culture.?Gallup has called it the Great Detachment.?Recent surveys consistently reveal the unrest in many workplace cultures.?People are not finding fulfillment or real meaning in their work.?Burnout, disengagement, stress, lack of belonging, and lack of trust impact each of us in different ways.?Whether it’s you personally, a team member, a friend, or a family member, you are being impacted by this upside down culture.?

Leaders and companies are missing the mark, in fact, they are missing the entire target.?Outdated mindsets and strongly held beliefs from past success are leading to a doubling down on control, focus on profitability and growth as well as compensation and a mixture of “band-aid” benefits.?Culture is the most important aspect of business.? This means that people and purpose must be first and second priorities not profits and growth.?

Today’s workplace culture is simply broken and focused on the wrong things.??

Magnetic energy is the cure to this workplace dilemma, and that cure starts with you and me.? There are three secrets to Magnetic Energy in workplace culture, and it takes all three to transform the workplace from lonely, meaningless jobs to thriving teams.?

This blog will explore the first secret, which is Dare to Believe.?Believe in magnetic energy and the inherent good in people.?God created us with an innate desire to build and serve something bigger than ourselves.?People want to meet expectations and succeed as they pursue their dreams.?How can you help create, experience, and share something that you do not believe in?? Beliefs affect our words and actions.?

Prioritizing people first requires a belief in magnetic energy.? An energy that raises our performance and attracts others to our cause.? It feels great.? You can’t touch it, but you can feel it.? We know when a leader or team has it.?I know you have experienced this energy before.?

Reflect on a work team, sports team, project, or community project where you found yourself fully engaged and excited about contributing and raising your focus and effort.?You could see the vision of accomplishing something bigger than you.??

Now that’s fun. That is when we are at our best.?We should experience that in our workplace.?People first, purpose second, and strategy third.?It takes courage, and that’s the first secret to magnetic energy: Dare to Believe.?

Tomorrow is a blank page, how will you help create magnetic energy for your team?
