“Sales” doesn’t have to be a scary word.
So many business owners are eager to dive into social media and marketing, but shy away from sales strategy altogether.
The truth is, that's likely the very thing that’s stopping you from getting where you want to be. Having a high close rate is a lifelong commitment that's essential to achieving your income goals, without working endless hours (that often results in burnout).
The good news is, sales is really just about having conversations. It’s about getting to know your prospect, understanding their wants, needs and pain points, and serving your heart out.
So, if you want to get better at sales, what small changes in dialogue need to be made to increase the number of people that say yes after that first chat? Let’s dive into the 3 key tips that’ll take the conversations down substantially and maximize your effectiveness when it comes to online sales:
- Learn the buying triggers. There are certain things you can say and do that’ll make people more likely to buy: this could be related to scarcity, time sensitivity, or social proof.
- Present bottom line results, not bells and whistles. Instead of putting together the perfect elevator pitch for your services, give them the bottom line. Long, romantic presentations mean nothing to your buyer. Results do. They don’t care about the service -- they care about the outcome! Your prospect is making a buying decision because they want to solve a problem. If you want tangible results, it's time to fall out of love with your product or service, and fall in love with the solutions you provide. Shift away from description and move into discussion around results.
- Quantify the end results. Have definitive conversations with prospects about ROI. Talk about what the tangible outcome is worth, versus the price you’re charging. If they spend X with you, the outcome that’s possible is Y. This puts into perspective why your offer is an unbelievable value.
A great salesperson understands that the more you make it about THEM, the better the result. Focus on asking the compelling questions, being present with your prospect and absorbing what they’re saying, and they will practically give you the answer key!
