3 Rules to unlock peak performance
Mental training starts with a few rules. The rules are important because they lays the groundwork for what is to follow. In order to train, you have to know what is expected of you. Just like any other training, we are going to ask you to do things that you may have never done before and we are going to ask you to grow and expand the way you think about yourself and your ability to perform. That is why we ask you to…
1. Have an Open mind: Being open minded is critical for mental training. We are going to ask you to change the way you think about performance. If you aren’t open to the Lucid training program, then we can’t start training. We want to reiterate; we aren’t wondering if this training works, we have seen it work for thousands of elite performers. We know it can work for you too. We want you to think critically about everything we present to you as long as you do it with an open mind.
2. Be Comfortable being uncomfortable: Training can be uncomfortable. Growth can be uncomfortable. Performing at a high level in any area of life will present challenges and obstacles. Mental training is about choosing to get uncomfortable until we get comfortable with discomfort. When we train physically, getting our body to push outside of the physical comfort zone is a good thing. It’s how we grow. The same is true when we train mentally. It is ok to feel uncomfortable. It is ok to push outside of your comfort zone. In fact, it is required in order to get the most out of this training.
3. Act your way into the feeling: Finally, you are going to have to act your way into the feeling. Sometimes you will feel great and taking action will be easy and some days you will feel awful and taking action will be hard. Acting your way into the feeling is what mental strength is all about. Taking the right actions regardless of how you feel is where you build strength. Taking action when you don’t feel like it is where you unlock your full potential.
To get the most out of yourself, show up with an open mind, willing to get uncomfortable, and determined to act your way into the feelings.
