Welcome to September! Labor Day weekend signals the end of summer for many of us - the kids go back to school, summer Fridays end, and the relaxed atmosphere returns to business as usual. For thought leaders - or aspiring thought leaders - this time of year is often very busy, and it often presents us with opportunities to put ourselves out there. TEDx, speaking engagements, conferences, networking events… If you took the summer off (good for you!), it’s time to get back in the saddle and make things happen.

LinkedIn newsletters are a powerful way to boost your online presence, whether you’re an established professional or in the beginning stages of your thought leadership. You may have heard that LinkedIn has adjusted their algorithm, and they now push original expert content to the front of the line. And a LinkedIn newsletter is just that.?

Here are 3 more reasons you need to start one this fall.?

3 Reasons You Need a LinkedIn Newsletter

Build credibility

LinkedIn newsletters provide you with a platform to establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry by curating and sharing valuable insights, industry trends, and expert knowledge. This enables you to position yourself as an authority figure, which allows you to increase? credibility among your connections and beyond. Establishing authority through thought leadership not only increases the likelihood that your audience will visit your website or lead magnet, it also enhances your chances of securing new business opportunities, partnerships, and speaking engagements. Post thoughtfully and consistently, and you’ll elevate your personal brand and attract a loyal following of like-minded professionals.

Get to know your audience?

Newsletters also enable you to cultivate a direct, more intimate connection with your audience. When you deliver valuable content, you have the opportunity to interact with your network and encourage meaningful dialogues. Not only that, but seeing how your audience responds to different topics and resources is a good way to know what speaks to potential clients and collaborators - and what doesn’t. Over time, you can tailor your approach, allowing you to connect more effectively with your readers and creating a community of engaged followers. Over time, you’ll establish trust, foster loyalty, and nurture enduring relationships that play a vital role in driving your business's growth.

Expand your network?

LinkedIn newsletters have the potential to have a much, much bigger reach than your posts. Unlike your regular LinkedIn content, your newsletter’s reach is not limited to your followers or targeted ads you share content with your followers, so you are in a position to reach a much wider, more diverse audience. Anyone who has a connection to your followers can see your LinkedIn newsletter, and you never know what opportunities can develop through these chance encounters. Your content can be shared, liked, and commented on by others, which can attract new followers and potential clients and collaborators.

If you want to start your own LinkedIn newsletter, but don’t have the time, bandwidth, or writing skills, we can help! I partner with two content writers - Jen Jarnigan and Katy Lindhart - who are experts in LinkedIn newsletters. They can help with editing or can even fully ghostwrite your newsletter (with your collaboration and idea generation). If you want to learn more - contact me here!?
