3 Reasons Why You’re Struggling As An Entrepreneur

Hey, you! How is entrepreneurship going? Do you feel like you are trying to keep your head above water? Or maybe that zest that you once had is slow fading away. Maybe you’re feeling frustrated that you haven’t gotten any clients or barely meet your sales quota each month. Ultimately, you’re just wondering: “Why am I struggling so much as an entrepreneur?” You may start to blame yourself, but are you actually doing something wrong? Or is it just the current market? The answer may be multiple factors, but chances are that you may be limiting yourself.

Limiting yourself is common for many entrepreneurs in the beginning stages; entrepreneurship is like a whole different world! There are a lot of unknowns, feelings of self-doubt, and questioning. But you must realize that it is possible to get off of the struggle bus. All the great entrepreneurs (including myself) have gone through difficult times, aka the times of struggle, and escaped the darkness. So, let’s explore some reasons why your entrepreneurial journey has hit a standstill:

Reason 1 - Limited Mindset

When you doubt yourself, you are allowing imposter syndrome to creep into your mind and keep you stuck. You will continue to shrink, second guess, and limit yourself until you decide to trust in yourself, your talents, and your expertise. Until you realize that you are amazing and belong at the table. Until you stop having a limited mindset, and instead develop a mindset based on abundance and success. Mindset is perception - if you believe you’re never going to achieve anything and have nothing to offer the world, then that is exactly what will happen. But you have an opportunity to change all that! Neglecting your mindset is the biggest mistake many entrepreneurs make; trust me: your mindset will make or break your business! Marketing and content creation may be important aspects in growing a business, but your mindset is just as essential!?

Reason 2 - Limited Knowledge

Entrepreneurship is a big hypothesis - no one knows exactly what they’re doing or what will lead to success. But it’s important to keep learning and feeding your mind new information and techniques related to your business. You may have an idea of some of the business basics, but you don't have a proven strategy to consistently promote yourself and market your business - and that’s okay! This is the process of trying, testing, and tweaking. Invest in yourself, utilize continuous learning, and perhaps gain a mentor or business coach (or business therapist… wink wink) to help increase your knowledge and enhance your expertise.

Reason 3 - Limited Discipline

Consistency is a major aspect of a growing business. If you’re not being clear about your vision, don’t provide your biz with the support it needs, and don’t take accountability, you will end up with a lack of consistency and a stagnant business. This can easily be remedied though! Gain clarity on your vision, and then create a marketing plan of action. Realize that dreams don’t work unless you do. Keep putting out consistent content on your social media platforms and be persistent with reaching out to potential clients or applying to become a speaker or proposing collaboration ideas. Give, and you shall receive.

Any combination of these three reasons are why you’re struggling and currently have limited results. Your lack of clarity in your gifts affects how you show up in life and business. But it doesn’t have to stay that way - it's time to get out of your own way and finally have the business of your dreams! We may be past the halfway point of 2024, but there is still time for you to reassess and take action in your business. I believe in you - you’ve got this!
