3 Reasons Why We Believe The Future of Higher Education is Online

While online learning is nothing new, it is definitely gaining popularity in the world of education— thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. When public schools and colleges, alike, shifted from physical to digital learning, we became aware of how easy it was to learn online and grew increasingly comfortable with the virtual classroom concept.

So comfortable in fact, 73% of college students said they prefer some college courses to be fully virtual post-pandemic— according to a Cengage survey.?

And, why not?

With the Internet and the rise of innovative digital technologies, the reasons for in-person learning are shrinking as we welcome a new era— the revolution of online education.?

Here are some reasons we believe online learning is the future of higher education:

It offers flexibility?

Online education provides students with the flexibility to learn at their own pace. They can take courses at their own leisure and on their own time— without the worry and hassle of working around their work or social schedule. Virtual classes also provide students with the opportunity to learn in an environment that’s suitable to their needs— giving them the freedom to stay home or even travel.?

It offers more personalized learning

Most online schools are not structured like traditional colleges. Students are given the freedom to select what courses they want to learn and what pathway they want to take. Online classes tend to be smaller in size— making it easier for students to personally connect with peers and their professors for additional guidance and instruction.

It’s more affordable than traditional colleges

Online learning is making higher education more accessible than ever before. Unlike traditional colleges, online schools are not charging students insane tuition fees and burdening them with massive debt. Most online schools offer low-cost options for students interested in pursuing higher education— but who want to stay within a budget.

While college campuses aren’t disappearing just yet, online education is gaining much traction amongst young people interested in a higher education option that suits their lifestyle.

So is online learning the future?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.?
