3 Reasons to Sleep Better with Dell Technologies PowerStore

3 Reasons to Sleep Better with Dell Technologies PowerStore

It is a few days now from the Dell Technologies launch of PowerStore, our new mid-range, All-Flash offering. Since the launch there have been a lot of social and marketing initiatives in all Countries right now, with plenty of webinars, blogs and so on, so I will keep this blog very short.

The best overview I’ve seen (what is it for) is the great post from Segundo Ramos (here) while your one stop shop place for everything technical is definitely Itzik Reich blog (this is a 10-parts blog so be prepared for a lot of details).

That being said I would like to point out a few reasons you should really look into PowerStore, and some of them are not technical.

Save costs with AppsON

 The possibility to run VM on the X version of PowerStore, open new scenarios for data-intensive applications (VMs) where you may have, as an example, edge locations collecting a lot of data to be aggregated/analyzed/labelled/enriched before you send up to your preferred DC, without the need to setup a full DC-like infrastructure with additional servers (in HA config), switches and so on and, eventually, saving WAN costs along the way as well.

Save Costs with 4:1 Guarantee

Dell Technologies Future Proof Program give you a guarantee on Data Reduction

This is part of our Future Proof Program. Compared with other similar appliances, the 4:1 guarantee make PowerStore very efficient. When you think about cost have a look at the Data Reduction Rate you can obtain from other systems, i.e. what is the real amount of data you can put on your storage once you factor in the compression and deduplication (guaranteed, in our case) and the amount of storage taken away from the storage itself for internal reasons. If nobody tells you when buying a new storage make sure you ask. The result may be very surprising.

Stay Up to Date with Anytime Upgrade

Anytime Upgrade keep your system always up to date

I am sure there are a lot of “refresh” program out there. The Dell Technologies any time upgrade program however is unique in its flexibility:

·      Anytime means ANY TIME from six months after you buy; remember when you bought a shining new car and come back home just to discover, the day after, that your preferred car maker just came out with a new model? Well, if it was a PowerStore system you could just wait for six months and get the new one.

·      Anytime upgrade should also be called “Any way upgrade”: when buying a new PowerStore and subscribing to the Anytime Upgrade program you can keep your system up to date in multiple ways:

o  Getting a new, “Next-Gen” node: (example getting a new “1500” node when is available, remember the new car?);

o  Getting a Higher Model (for example upgrading your current “1000” appliance with “3000” nodes);

o  Scaling Out: as an alternative to swapping your current nodes you can get a discount towards a 2nd appliance purchase (so you can add to your first one and have a bigger and more powerful cluster).

It goes without saying dire that all the above are performed non-disruptively.

Read my lips: No more data migration projects.

Dell Technologies continue to innovate on many fronts, not only technically, allowing you to sleep well with your data fully protected, caring only about your business.
