Let's be honest sales and fun rarely end up in the same sentence. Anxiety. Stress. Fear. But not fun.
There are a lot of negative emotions when it comes to sales and selling. Reaching out to some to ask for the sale puts us in a position to experience some very strong emotions.
Fear of rejection
Fear of judgement
Uncertainty
You may have felt one of these or a combination. Here are three things you can do to make sales simple. And who knows once you get good at it maybe you will even have a little fun.
To be clear these techniques will not turn you into a killer closer or a master manipulator. But it will help you hear yes more often WITHOUT sounding salesy.
How do we over come the fear of rejection. Let;s talk to people who want to tell us yes! Think about the person you can serve with excellence. Think about what they need from you. What is the solution they are looking for? What do they need to hear so that they are excited to hear from you (not annoyed)? This may take some deep reflection. Schedule a call if you need some help. But there is a group of people that want to hear from you. They are waiting to tell you YES! Think of youself as a US Marshall and you are on a search to find that person. Now if you hear no. You think "whoops wrong person" and you keep looking. You are not trying to convince some one who does want to be convinced.

Okay that seems simple enough. But, what about judgement? I'm terrified about what people think. This one is a little tough because I can't make people like you. Here is a little secret if no one knows you exist then no one can hate you. But, the converse is also true. If no one knows you exist then they can't love you either. Your job is not to get the world to love you. `If you want to make everyone happy, don't be a leader; sell ice cream. - Nick Saban My advice is simple whatever other's opinion of you ,ke sure it doesn't change YOUR opinion of you. Be bold with who you are so they people looking for you can find you. Serve them with excellence!
Uncertainty is the easiest to overcome mentally. What if they say no? They will. What if they think my price is too high? They will. What if they go with some one else? They will. You don't have to wonder about these. I know this is going to happen. There are two things you can be certain about. Someone will say no. And you will be fine. I have made over half a million calls in my career. I have heard no more times than you have had breakfast. And guess what I am in the second best shape of my life. I am training for a half marathon. No doesn't change who you are. No get's you close to yes. You can be certain if you look long enough you will hear yes. My mission is to help you hear yes more often.

- Be clear on who you are and who you are not
- Know you numbers for X no's you will hear X yes's
