3 reasons to get up early every day

Tim Cook, Indra Nooyi, Oprah Winfrey, Howard Shultz (founder of Star bucks), Mary Barra (CEO of GM), all get up early at the crack of dawn to start their day. Here are 3 reasons to start your day early.

1. Planning, Productivity & Reflection

Planning, Productivity & Reflection

Early mornings provide an opportunity for leaders to plan their day ahead, set goals, and strategise. It also allows leaders to start their day before most people, providing them with uninterrupted time to focus on important tasks and make strategic decisions. The early morning hours are often quiet and free from distractions, enabling leaders to work with greater efficiency and productivity. They can review their priorities, reflect on previous actions, and evaluate their progress. This reflective time helps leaders gain clarity and make informed decisions.

2. Self-Discipline & Availability:

Self Discipline and Availability

Cultivating the habit of waking up early requires self-discipline and self-mastery. Leaders who demonstrate discipline in their personal lives often exhibit similar traits in their professional lives. Waking up early sets a positive tone for the day and helps leaders stay organised, focused, and disciplined in their work. By getting to the office early leaders can make themselves available to their team members and colleagues before the workday begins. They can respond to emails, provide guidance, and address urgent matters. This accessibility demonstrates their commitment and availability, fostering effective communication and teamwork.

 3. Personal Time :

Personal Time

Waking up early gives leaders a chance to engage in personal activities that contribute to their well-being. They can exercise, meditate, read, or pursue hobbies. These activities help leaders maintain a healthy work-life balance, reduce stress, and enhance their overall mental and physical well-being.

Robin Sharma suggests the 20/20/20 Formula i.e. dividing the first hour into three segments of 20 minutes each. The first 20 minutes are dedicated to physical exercise, followed by 20 minutes of focused reflection, and concluding with 20 minutes of learning or personal development.

You have 2 choices. If you are someone who is in a hurry to become a CXO but is getting overlooked for promotions you can try and learn on your own whilst wasting a lot of time. Or it’s time to get yourself a strategic professional CXO coach. Someone who has been a CXO in real life and is certified globally (ICF-PCC).
