As an English language teacher, you know that teaching is about much more than just grammar rules and vocabulary lists.
You're also teaching culture - both the cultures represented in your classroom and the culture of English-speaking countries around the world.
Getting certified in Global Dexterity can help build those vital skills.
Here are 3 key reasons why:
Understand Cultural Contexts. One of the core principles of Global Dexterity is understanding how to successfully adapt your behavior to different cultural contexts without compromising your own values. For language teachers working with students from diverse backgrounds, this skill is invaluable. It allows you to bridge cultural gaps, create an inclusive classroom environment, and ensure your lessons resonate across cultures.
Enhance lesson design. The culturally-informed frameworks and techniques taught in a Global Dexterity program can help you design lessons that are meaningful and relevant to all your students, regardless of their cultural backgrounds. You'll learn how to select materials, activities, and examples that avoid unconscious cultural biases and keep your entire class engaged.
Stand Out Professionally. As the demand for cross-cultural expertise grows worldwide, a Global Dexterity certification can make you an even more appealing teaching, coaching, and training candidate. It demonstrates your advanced skills in this area and commitment to developing the essential global dexterity that 21st century educators need to successfully teach diverse student bodies.
Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language is about much more than grammar - it's about connecting across cultures and empowering the next generation to communicate across borders.
Becoming certified in Global Dexterity equips ESL/EFL teachers to do just that! If you would like to learn more, complete this quick 3 question form and we'll be in touch!

Guiding Globalistas Across Language & Culture Barriers
5 个月Thanks for this important reminder, Andy. As a former Michigan-TESOL officer and long-time advocate for TESL/TEFL instruction, I've encouraged instructors to 1) study a foreign language, 2) spend time living abroad, and 3) engage in cross-cultural training. Without it, even well-meaning teachers can present themselves (and their material) in naive and ill-considered ways.
