Yes, I know what your thinking...how cheap, non fashionable, what if it falls off. Well first It shouldn't fall off if it is clipped on correctly. I have seen several men clip on a tie and look a mess due to bad placement. Honestly if you are wearing a clip on no one around you should be able to tell.
I am a true believer in the clip on tie I have been for most of my career. Here are 3 reasons why.
#1 CLOSE CONTACT PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS:
If you happen to get into a altercation and your opponent is not a very well trained one but watches a lot of movies. He or she might try to grab something like a hood on a hoodie ,your hair or loose fitting Clothing. If you are wearing a tie they may try and choke you with it or pull you down with it. If they reach and pull and you have on a clip on tie guess what happens? Yes you got it, it surprises them and pulls right off giving you a few seconds of reaction time.
#2 THE COST:
If you do a lot of executive protection details that cause you to wear different colors and styles of suits. Then that can get really expensive and if you are cheap like me you will be looking for a cheaper way to be stylish. Clip on ties cost half the price of what regular ones do and they are safer.
#3 SUMMER TIME FRIENDLY:
If you are a big guy or girl then heat my be your arch nemesis. So naturally during the summer you sweat more then usually. Especially if you are in a full suit with dress shoes and a neck tie. Have you ever seen a person pull their neck tie loose but not take it off? That is because the tie is slightly choking them or making their neck sweat. With a clip on you will not have those problems.
