1. What sort of progress can we expect to see at the River District through the next few months?

In the coming months, we are focused on laying the groundwork for long-term success at the River District. This includes advancing infrastructure improvements and enhancing the area's connectivity with the rest of New Orleans. We’re excited to see the continuation of environmental remediation and site preparation, which will set the stage for the future multi-use development. This period will also involve collaborating closely with community stakeholders to ensure that the project reflects the needs and values of the people who live and work here. We are committed to maintaining transparency and fostering partnerships that lead to vibrant urban growth, while honoring the rich history of our city. It’s an exciting time, and I look forward to sharing updates as we hit these key milestones.

2. What does “A Neighborhood For All” mean to you, personally?

For over ten years I have represented affordable housing?developers in the city of New Orleans and I have spear headed over $247 million?in affordable housing development in the city. To me, 'A Neighborhood For All' means an inclusive community where everyone, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, feels they belong. It’s about thoughtful urban planning that ensures access to affordable and workforce housing, diverse commercial spaces, and public amenities that serve the needs of all residents. I’ve always believed that a truly vibrant neighborhood thrives when there’s a mix of cultures, ideas, and opportunities, so I work hard to ensure that developments like the River District reflect this vision. This concept also involves honoring the our city’s history and preserving its character, while making room for positive growth and opportunity for future generations. It’s about creating a sense of belonging and pride for everyone who calls the neighborhood home.

I want people to remember that this project is about building a sustainable and inclusive future while respecting the rich history of New Orleans. This neighborhood will serve generations to come—a place where families can live, work, and thrive together. It’s more than just a development; it’s about space-making that fosters community connections and reflects the unique culture and spirit of the city. As we make progress, we’re committed to keeping transparency and collaboration at the forefront, ensuring that this project benefits everyone, from long-time residents to new businesses. The River District is about creating opportunity and preserving the essence of what makes New Orleans special.
