Whenever I read a book, I make sure I can pinpoint one thing i learned from the book. The book might be so good I book mark the whole thing, but at the end of the read, I have a process where write my impressions about the book and outline my one thing. This is the one big takeaway from the book which i am going to implement in my life for my own personal growth.
Today, I wanted to share with you three productivity books that have completely changed my approach to work and life.
Reading is something that I started doing diligently about 3 years ago and these books have been instrumental in helping me become more organized, focused, and efficient in everything that I do.
I couldn't recommend these enough to anyone looking to boost their productivity and achieve their goals.
"Atomic Habits" by James Clear is a comprehensive guide to building and maintaining positive habits through small, incremental changes that can lead to significant personal transformation.
One thing I got from this book is the importance of using systems and creating routines in order to build new habits for a more productive life.
2. The One Thing
"The One Thing" by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan advocates focusing on the most important task at any given moment to achieve extraordinary results in life and work.

One thing I got from this book is the importance of focusing on ONE thing at a time which eliminates the overwhelm, burnout and gets you better results. I live by this rule, and let me tell you, this simplifies your life so much, it's insane. The secret to really grasping this rule is to learn how to be content at every stage of your life. With a mindset that is always content, you'll realize that you do not need much to be happy.
3. Essentialism
"Essentialism" by Greg McKeown is a book that advocates for focusing on the vital few things that truly matter and eliminating the trivial many in order to live a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
One thing I got from this book is the importance of elimination to give way to the most important things. Ask yourself, “are the things on my “to do” list really important? And if they are, do I really have to do them right now?”
This is another thing that simplifies your life and enables you to focus on ONE thing at a time.
These books among others have been monumental in how I live my life and continue to refine my productivity system. As you read these books always ensure you know **one thing** you learned form it. This applies to any book you read. You do not need to retain everything you read from a book, but be sure to know your one thing. That's the secret to applying what you learned, and improving every single day one lesson at a time.
What are some of your favorite books, and what did you learn from them?
