The 3 Pre-Conference Tracks of Experts Live Europe 2023 - choices, choices!

This week registration opens for Experts Live Europe and you'll ask yourself two questions. So hopefully this article will help you with the answers :-)

Shall I go to Experts Live Europe?

YES, of course! Join us on September 18-20, 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic to meet with the Microsoft community, and to learn about Microsoft cloud, datacenter, security and modern workplace technologies. Hehe, but jokes aside because of course I'll be answering YES - I'm writing this article to help you select the pre-conference track when registering for the Full Conference Pass. These are the 3 deep-dive tracks hosted on the pre-conference day on Monday, September 18, including the speakers and session details:

Pre-Conference Track 1: Game ON! Microsoft 365 Security hands-on workshop

This pre-conference will be delivered by Shruti Ailani , Senior Technical Specialist for Security at Microsoft and Maarten Goet , Microsoft Regional Director & Security MVP.

Session Details:

Shruti Alani, senior security technical specialist at Microsoft, and Maarten Goet, security MVP & RD, will talk about how security defense teams, incident response teams, threat hunting teams and SecOps teams can detect and respond fast enough to contain the adversary before they accomplish their mission? They will do a deep-dive on Microsoft Defender 365, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.

For the second part of the workshop, Shruti and Maarten will launch attendees into an intense, real-world security breach simulation. Every security pre-day attendee will get hands-on experience with Microsoft products and test their knowledge in a fun, interactive game, with a price ceremony for the top performers.

Pre-Conference Track 2: Azure Migration Essentials – Migrating Servers and Containers

This pre-conference will be delivered by Steve Buchanan , Principal Program Manager for Azure at Microsoft, and Kevin Greene , Microsoft MVP.

Session Details:

Whether you’re completely new to migrating workloads to Microsoft Azure or you’ve already started your journey to the cloud, you won’t want to miss this pre-conference deep-dive session. We’ll start off by walking you through the pre-migration activities you should consider such as landing zone design, workload inventory, migration assessments, risk checklists and the tools you need to get up and running.

Once you understand how to get started with your migration project, we will then dive into the different options you have to migrate your workloads (both server based and container based) to Azure – using a combination of traditional lift-and-shift, serverless and container scenarios. When we’ve shown you how to best migrate those workloads to the cloud, you'll then learn how to manage, secure, monitor and govern them like a boss!

Pre-Conference Track 3: Employee Experience with Microsoft Viva & Microsoft Teams

This pre-conference will be delivered by Zoe Wilson , Microsoft MVP and Kevin McDonnell, Microsoft MVP.

Session Details:

Learn about how Microsoft Viva can help your organisation improve their Employee Experience through greater connections, deeper insights, aligned purpose and foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge and growth. This is a half day workshop where we’ll take you through an overview of employee experience, what Viva is and how it can transform your organisation.
