3 Powerful Words to shift the Dialogue with Ourselves

3 Powerful Words to shift the Dialogue with Ourselves

Words matter! They build up or break down the somebody's dreams, careers, businesses, self-esteem and relationships! In every possible context, situation or circumstances.

A lot of what we communicate is open to interpretation, therefor we make a careful choice of phrases, expressions and tones. Especially as non native speakers!

Words bear also responsibility. They are carrying on emotions and they are also the driving force for thoughts, opinions, arguments, actions, decisions. They empower or they destroy. They can be like knives or cosy blankets! The are noise, music or shadow, light!

Additionally, words have the power to alter our world, create new realities or help us to escape from the one we are trapped in. A simple YES or NO is so powerful: they carry so much meaning and put us in particular situations.

If words are so powerful, how could we harness their power to positively and successfully impact us? Today we harness a simplification tactic - word minimalism - to recenter your focus on efficiency. Besides reshaping the narrative you are telling to yourself, as a non native speaker, it helps you to declutter your communication, spoken or written, avoid picking up too complicated, embellished, fancy words and getting stuck. It is truly fascinating the power of these three letter words and the difference they are making!

YET

Such a short word with an amazing potential and drive! Yet is a promise, a sign of commitment and persistence, together with ”I am on my way of achieving that!”. Added at the end of a sentence, fills our heart with enough belief and conviction that nothing is impossible to be achieved. It is an exclamation of deep trust. It amplifies your will power.

I haven't started to give speeches in English yet !

I haven't spoken in French to my colleagues yet!

I do not have the courage to run a teem in English yet!

NOW

helps you to remain grounded in present. Whenever you find your mind wandering off too far inn the past or in the future, NOW will always anchor you in present. It will help you to survive the pain lingering in memories (”I used to speak so well! I was presenting in English, speaking with no fear, no doubt!”) and the anxiety caused by the new path you are embarking.

”Now” a short word to turn the chaos in focus, the stagnation into positive change and put you on the track of success. There is always a Now time: to strat a YouTube Chanel, to build your confidence to show up, to coach your English or your French, to stop avoiding opportunities, to write an article in English or in French. In magic way this way transforms nostalgia into drive. The beginning is always now.

If I act now, I will set things in motion and by the end of the year I attend an interview in English.

If I start exposing myself to English speaking opportunities, I expand my business.

If I make time now for my communication in French , in a few months I start professing in French.

CAN

brings encouragement and pushes you to take the leap because you are able to. Used in its affirmative form, CAN is about courage, perseverance, confidence and audacity. It is a boost of energy and an exclamation of intrinsic motivation.

It is both hopeful and full of potential because it focuses on achievements. It sparks our imagination and gets things done. It is also very often a subject to our negotiations between heart and mind. It has the power to rewrite the narrative you are telling to yourself.

I can do this!

I can speak without doubt!

I can lead in French!

I can give a presentation in English!

Words are packages of energy and meaning. They are carrying so much significance and impact us on the deepest level. Use the words in your advantage to reframe the negative narrative you tell to yourself. Each of the above three letter word is an affirmation and a mantra. Use them as a mantra! And remember that if you have yet to believe that you achieve succes now it is the time to trust the right words.
