We know Fundraising can be scary—but we promise, it doesn't have to be!
It's up to YOU and your team to make your nonprofit's VISION and IMPACT a reality this year, and it all comes back to FUNDRAISING!
There are a lot of Myths in the nonprofit community that contribute to the stigma around fundraising.
Today, we're going to BUST three of these Myths and help you on the path to becoming fundraising ROCKSTARS in 2023!
Fundraising Myth #1: You should stick to what's worked before.
As nonprofit leaders, we tend to think of the traditional ways to raise funds: sponsorships, grants, matching gifts, etc. But sticking to traditional thinking won't help you exceed your funding goals this year.
To bring your nonprofit's vision to life, it's time to think outside the box ?? It's time to get creative!
The best way to start is... to just do it! Sit down with your team and have a brainstorming session to get the creative juices flowing. There's no such thing as a bad idea - you can iron out the details later!
We've always found that the best fundraising results come when you share big dreams and ideas with a passionate group of people. ??
Fundraising Myth #2: You should focus on quantity over quality.
Yes, you still need to reach a large donor base, but there are ways to work SMARTER in your fundraising.
Corporations donate over $25 BILLION dollars to nonprofits each year.
Someone is going to receive that money. Why not you?!
Finding the right corporate partner is an excellent way to strategically BUILD your fundraising plan and make a BIG IMPACT in your community.
When you work with corporations, you have the ability to connect with donors through:?
?? their employees’ personal financial gifts

?? the company's employee matching gift program
?? additional monetary donations for employee's volunteer time
That's a lot of opportunity through one connection!
When you meet with corporate partners, find out what's important to them and what kind of impact they want to have in the community. If it's a fit with your strategy, make the case that your partnership can benefit their company, employees, AND the community!
Building long-lasting and meaningful relationships with corporate partners is a great way to think outside the box with your fundraising.
You'll be making connections that will create impact for years to come!
Fundraising Myth #3: Fundraising is impossible.
This myth CAN BE true... if you never make the ask.
...So what are you waiting for?!
Get out there and start asking! Making the ask doesn't need to be intimidating—you're passionate about your nonprofit's mission, and that will shine through!
?? We challenge each of you to go out and make TWO "Asks" this week. ?? It can be anyone—ask a friend for a donation, a new corporate partner for a sponsorship, or a local business for an in-kind donation.
And when you're done, pass that challenge along to your team.
